hi,

I take it the MSA file is working? :)

Any thoughts?

the 2nd screen I found quite interesting, with the scroll in a sine, audio is quite good and clear too in that screen!

cheers

hope you like the colours!

There are, from memory, bootsector installers out there that force memory to a lower value then do a software reset so your upgraded 4Mb ST/STE then behaves as a 1Mb ST/STE afterwards.

Vague memories of them in the Floppyshop catalogue. Probably wrote something similar myself back in the day ... but that was 20+ years ago :)

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Ahhh . If you happen to find something like that, make sure to share. I have quite a few games that don't run on my 4MB STE but do if i load a RAM-TOS and crop RAM first.

F1 GFA Raytrace screen actually just checked and the scroller reckons its 4096! bottom border scroller!
F2 Genesis Sample demo! it says in the scroller 'use cursor to control the sine thing so you and read it!'

F10 ? the reset screen, quality!

It is an ST (FM) demo!

Found the util which I probably borrowed the routine from to force memory down to 1MB (there's also a 512K version) but for the life of me I can't find my bootsector source code that did it.

I've just done a quick hack on it using Easyrider 4 and include the .PAR file. But being the lazy sod I am, I forgot to set the export options to be a proper .S listing .. so you're stuck with the hex+source code listing :)

I was probably destined to be included in a version of the Professional Virus Killer but, for whatever reasons, it was removed - probably because whilst it worked on my own Mega ST 4, it didn't work on anyone else's machine in Floppyshop HQ
