Re: Selling my spare SuperVidel...

Going on memory only here but I'm pretty sure it cost me around $250.00 to $300.00 to get here to the US. Hey Wong. There was no network adapter that came with mine. I think that was later releases maybe? I do have the etherNat, but that was a separate purchase. Maybe you're thinking about the Sveth...

Re: 1040STe and SC1435....

When I first got a 1040 STe, I bought the SC1435 as well. I really liked the monitor stand, as well as the separate audio inputs and stereo speakers. However, that said, I have to say that I think the SC1224, specifically the JVC brand, has a superior picture. Not an overwhelming difference, mind yo...

Re: Selling my spare SuperVidel...

Good luck!

PS Oh, this was asked over at Atari Age, so for those who are unfamiliar, the SuperVidel does
require the CTxx series accelerator board (and a Falcon 030). :)

Re: Call for (not so technical) questions -- Atari's product manager 1991-96

Posted this over at Atari Age too: Breakdown of all sales would be great, as was suggested above, specifically I'd like to know how many STacy's were sold. Also, since some early STacy's came with the expansion port (like a Mega ST's), what were Atari's plans for that and why did they remove it in l...

Re: MegaST + Panther/2 (+ PuPla/2)

Congratulations - looks like all the hard work is paying off.

For a nice setup like that, I'd be tempted to go with an Ultrasatan
or CosmosEx. :)

Re: MegaST + Panther/2 (+ PuPla/2)

Understood. :) Hopefully, the updated ST Ram will do the trick. Clock signals can drive you crazy. I don't know if you followed that message thread here when I was working on my Pak board (it's overly long, bloated and I tend to ramble! :) ) but I had an issue where my setup would spontaneously cras...

Re: MegaST + Panther/2 (+ PuPla/2)

Holger Zimmerman, probably the main guy behind the Pak boards does visit these forums occasionally. Perhaps you can get some help from him. He did help me with my Pak board, up to and including making an English version of the modified TOS v3.06 chips. One of the big things I had to do was add extra...

Congratulations on getting things going. I know how fun it is - I started out with a
damaged Pak 68/3 board and installed it in my STacy.

Re: WIFI for all ataris over serial!

There used to be Darkforce BBS http://www.darkforce.org/index2.html. I connected to it once with my ESP8266 for the retro BBS feeling. But it seems to be down now. We're still around. Note my sig - we had to change our port because of out of country probes. It's now 520 instead of the usual 23 for ...

I must be looking at this wrong. If the "before" is first and the "after" is second,
it honestly appears that the original display looks better to me.... :)

Hard to find these days, but you do see them pop up every now and then.

There was a message thread where someone had posted the schematics
to make your own.

If you're good at soldering you might be able to make your own.

I disagree - if the ST mouse was ergonomic, modern mices would use similar form :) What makes you think that modern PC mice are ergonomic? ;) I have been through my share of mice the last decade, in search of something that does not make my forearms and wrists ache. The ST mouse is not any worse th...

say enough good things about him and Hextracker.

Re: CT60(e) + bus acceleration

Isn't that what the motherboard mods "back in the day", did for the Falcon anyway? Acting like a Nemesis or Phantom? I'm pretty sure my Falcon's MB has the bus accelerated as well as the DSP , etc,.... Never had a problem with it that I can tell. PS This is with the original CT60 series th...

That's probably why then Mikro, I do have all 3 mods in place, although I'm not sure

Re: Falcon mods?

The comments about the DSP are interesting to me. I have the motherboard mods done on my Falcon as well. Bus, DSP, etc. However, when Mark Duckworth did the mods on my board, he said that the DSP wouldn't tolerate going more than 40mhz, that 50mhz caused crashes. IIRC, he told me at the time it was ...

Re: ATARI depacking benchmark

Oh, the STacy is an Atari portable (although at its weight, "luggable" might be a better description!). :) It's not a TT at all. It's pretty much a standard TOS v1.04, 8mhz 68000, max 4 meg ST at heart. I installed a Pak 68/3 accelerator board in it. That gives it TOS v3.06, a 40mhz 68882 ...
