Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

I've done some test... ST + ACSI + ICD Pro: 3*21 MB files generated, verified, copied here and there on same and on different SD partition (315 MB of data), no problem TT + ACSI + HDDRIVER: same tests, no problem TT + SCSI + HDDRIVER: same tests, no problem Falcon + SCSI + HDDRIVER: generating and v...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

Please let me know if you make any changes that may improve things (longer timeout, smarter timeout, etc.). Sure, give me few more days - still working on this. It would be good to confirm that TOS is actually writing lots of small chunks, and find out the size of these. I've seen it in the logs - ...

Re: FDD Problem

I changed the cable ... it does not work. I checked the connections ... I do not know what to do. It's strange - it seems that there was some communication attempt between your ST and CE, as it seems received a read command through floppy interface. As the floppy emulation works fine on your TT, I ...

Re: Debugging issues with STE

For now, I'm unable to program the Xilinx with the /ce/update/flash_xilinx script - it says the xsvf file I created with Impact is not ok and it stops. Any hints on how to setup ISE/Impact for this to work, Jookie? I'm using Xilinx WebPack 6.1 (copyright says 1995 - 2003, so it's 14 years old ;) )....

Re: Error while copying bigger files to USB stick and shared drive

WOW - that is a turnaround time (working in IT myself :))! the CosmosEX is brand new, got it only a few weeks ago updated - so I must have been a few days out - and the error went away, at least when working with a fresh booted CosmosEX Yeah, this Raspberry Pi 3 compatibility thing got solved 5 day...

Re: Error while copying bigger files to USB stick and shared drive

Hello, you mention that you have the latest firmware, so does your main app report version: 2017-01-03 ? Did you update just now? Did you wait a little and then turn it off and on after that update? You have Raspberry Pi 3 installed, or some older one? How do you power the device? Internal PSU of At...

Re: FDD Problem

The floppy emulator works on my TT. It no longer works on my MSTE. I just reinstall it on the TT, it works. This could be a bad cable or contact in your MSTE - I have similar issues with my STFM, when I pull out the FDD cable out of my CE and the FDD connector is trying to split into two pieces. Co...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

Have now tried 3 different cards. The cards are of different speeds and brands. The fastest card only give me B (80%) and C (20%) write time counts while the slowest give me B, E, H and I write time counts. Nice, so I would stick with the fastest if that's not a big problem :) The results for all t...

Re: FDD Problem

Erm, I didn't completely understand what you said (sorry, english is not my first language), so this is what I understood:
It wasn't working in MSTE, but then it worked in TT, so you are just confused how is that possible?

If that's not what you meant, please rephrase it a little bit (sorry again).

Re: Old Raspberry Pi and new Raspbian based CE-Software?

But I think, there is no reason for using the Yocto based software even with this rather old PI. Possibly - yes, I agree. But the Yocto image is much smaller, the system load is probably lower, so some people might like to stick with that. Although I guess the old Yocto will not boot correctly with...

Re: Web browsing with CosmosEx?

Maybe some developer could make it into something useful? Could it work better with monochrome GIF instead of color JPG?
Could it be made a part of the CE Software with the PI doing the job?

Yes, this could be one of the ways how to do it

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

dhedberg, ok, so at least it's getting better now. CE_TSTHD.TOS reports SD error on WRITE: 0016 CE_TSTHD.TOS reports SD error on READ: 0006 The (only) positive thing about these is, that Hans at least knows that it went wrong. Seems like increasing the timeout for the SD card in Hans helps, but the ...

Re: FDD Problem

Hello Ccarl84, first the simplest thing - if you return it to the last machine where it worked, does it still work, or it's broken even there? As well as with the test image. The test image is not for usage under TOS, but only in the CE_TSTFD.TOS - btw., can you run that one to see if it works at le...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

In the mean time there has been an update which improves SD card access just by extending the read timeout, and also some other fixes, so some testing on your side and feedback would be appreciated, so I can try to fix it if the issue still appears.

Re: CosmosEx - updates

Main app – 2017-01-03 - added setting core_freq=250 into /boot/config.txt – this fixes communication issues between RPi 3 and CE on Raspbian. After successful update leave the device on for a minute, turn it off, wait 5 seconds, turn it on, and run the CE_TSTHD.TOS – option ‘D’ or ‘C’ to check if t...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

dhedberg , I've released an update - this one doesn't fix much about the SD card (anything else than extending the SD card read time out), but the TSTHD has now more things in it, so I would like to ask you to do the following: - update to the latest version - boot CE with SD card - run configdrive...

Re: Data corruption with CosmosEx SD card (Falcon/SCSI)

I'm looking forward for your SD card test results, possibly testing more cards on your device would be nice. That copying and data corruption aren't nice, I hoped for it to go away completely. What driver (and version) are you using for SD card and IDE drive? What Falcon you have - how much RAM, TOS...

Re: .iso support ?

Why just not mount that .iso on Raspberry Pi and access it through translated drive (using CE_DD)? Yes, that would need some development to add this kind of mounting in CE, but the rest (access through CE_DD) is already done. I'm not sure if that mount would work on Yocto, but it should work on Rasp...

I'm not sure (although I guess) I'm talking to the same person through facebook, so I'll c&p here what I've written there, so we would have a public copy of the thing :) I had an odd issue with it one time, that after start it didn't want to work, see this: https://github.com/atarijookie/ce-atar...
