Re: Rare disks found and images - The Bald Eagle #21 and DEVMAN hacks

No others clues found in the source code to the two attempts at the loader either (left on the root of the LED Storm disk).

Re: Resourced TOS Rom

I've had a PM from galahad and he won't be returning to the forum.

He's asked me to remove his user ID, but to keep the thread looking sensible, I'll leave them in.

His account will be switched off rather than removed.

As in an original copy?

If you just want a disk image, look at the files that I posted above.

Talk to Exxos as he (from what I remember) sells them.

I'm sure you've got most of these already Bandit? These are the same uploads that PurpleEagle01 did back in the day when they were Nero images?

Re: Any Good Working Compilation available?

What tool was used to create these .HD files? I can see that there's a PC-DOS style directory table via WinHex, but renaming to .IMG and writing back to an SD card isn't working for me (or the original poster in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29742)

Re: .HD Files

In theory, mainly because I haven't got the time to test the images afterwards as my Mega STE isn't connected up these days, but the two files are *more than* likely just images of two separate 1Gb SD/Micro SD cards. So .. Use the USB Image Tool found here: http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/down...

Vague memories of long chats about Easyrider and music rips. I donated all my dodgy ST disks to a pot washer in the local nightclub once PVK went commercial, including all of my copies of your menus :)

Re: ST cracking tutorial

There was the hacker's version of MonST which you over-wrote the Ultimate Ripper EEPROM with. That was much more useful than the Ultimate Ripper - unless you needed to extract sprites or images, but I'm glad I replaced the one with the other. You could invoke the version of MonST on the cart, load u...

Re: ST cracking tutorial

Nice guide. Easyrider's problem with mistaking data for code and vice versa were a bane of a lot of people's lives back in the day :)

It also looks like the PASTI needs re-creating for Alien World. Can't remember if it's one I did back in the day or not.

Did it have a loading screen where you had a close up of an astronaut with panic on his face?

If so, it was Exile: http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_ ... me_id=1015

There is a lot of work going on with a refresh to the AL site. Downloads are broken at the moment, as is the chat engine. I've no idea when it will be back online in its current or refreshed form.

Re: Using GFA Basic In 2016

If it wasn't for GFA, I probably wouldn't have moved onto other forms of BASIC as I moved onto the PC. I code Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint add-in and 'quick fixes' in work. All done using VBA and wouldn't be possible without all my GFA experiences. I still dabble in 68K albeit the simple stu...

There is the Retro Computer Museum (also located in Leicester) who will accept the donations, assuming no-one else wants it from here first.

Re: singleparter

Here you go. v1.73 is the last version that myself and MSD/POV worked on. Get it working using a standard Trap #1 loader, then use the same files via the MSDLNK.PRG to create a .LNK file of all the data files. Merge in the file list into the LINK.S file as per the instructions, tell it which packer ...

Re: singleparter

I've got the source code to the LinkFiler that I used back in the day knocking around somewhere. Dead easy to setup and use via Devpac.

Test it as a standard Trap #1 loader first, then link it into a single file and bolt-on the linkfile loader.

Re: singleparter

It depends on the type of loader used in the original game. If it uses standard GEMDOS file-loading, you can (more than likely) get away with using a Trap #1 loader that has been tweaked to pull in all of the packed files from a single link file. If it uses any FSEEK commands (to check a file exists...

Re: Atari World & Atari Computing Mags going online

I used to have an Atari Computing CD, can't remember what was on it but I had a feeling it was all the disks and the mags in electronic format. I've no idea where I last saw my copy of the 'Time Machine' CD. Nor any idea what was on it, but if the magazines are on it already, then they're probably ...
