Broken TTM195

My TTM195 is dead. Fortunately I have a backup, but I'd like to revive the dead one if possible. I have reasonable soldering skills, but alas no 'scope, so I can't do signal tracing. Can anyone suggest parts to replace, or point me to any online troubleshooting docs (I *do* have the maintenance manu...

Free space bug

I am running EmuTOS under Hatari on Windoze XP. If only an emulated ACSI disk image is attached, the free space reported by the desktop for each partition is correct. When a GEMDOS drive is connected as well, *all* drives (including emulated ACSI partitions) report 16777216 bytes available. The othe...

Re: Network your Atari!

Just in case someone is looking to network his/her Atari. Spotted on ebay: SCSI Ethernet devices. 1. Asante SCSI-Ethernet adapter 2. Dynaport SCSILink SCSI ethernet adapter Not sure if the Asante works or not, but the Dynaport should work as I am using a Dynaport DP0902 on my falc. I'm pr...

Re: Eiffel Schematics

O.k. fan control works. Now I'm left with the joystick ports to test, and then I realized, how can I test them.... I have an old Quickshot & Konix navigator but no games and currently a mono screen. Does anyone know of a test in GEM for the joysticks ?? I found a program called DCMSTICK on the ...

Re: Eiffel Schematics

Hi Alan, I like box headers too, but I can live with either. Did a quick search on eBay, and found a DB9-to-2x5 header as item #150207155914, but there are lots more db9 extension cables! If you go the DB9 shell route, make sure there's enough space for any cable 'ears' there might be ... Thanks aga...

Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

if nothing happens then checking clocks are running is a good idea followed by the chipsets power at various areas and reset vectors incase some TTL or other reset component has failed unplugging everything except the video is a good idea you can use a scope or frequency counter to check clocks ......

Re: Diamond Back 3

i used to use it to backup my TT about 15 years ago i did have trouble using scsi tape drives with it (i remember trying to use a DDS/DAT dive with it) and ended up backing up to lots and lots of floppies instead (thankfully i had a free and unlimited supply). it's not something i'd need to use now...

Re: DVD on Falcon IDE + parallel CD

I think I currently have ExtenDOS Gold and CDwriter Suite, but not latest version. HD DRIVER 6/7/8.02 Thinking about adding a DVD drive. That would work CF Master IDE DVD Slave? Or I can just look further into a scsi DVD! How about copying from one to the other CD > DVD? CF master / DVD slave will ...

Diamond Back

If anyone is still using Diamond Back, and would like to beta test a new version, please email me. I bought the source code + copyright a while back (along with Diamond Edge), but have only just now got round to doing anything with it. I'm in the process of sprucing up the source to my standards and...

Re: DVD on Falcon IDE + parallel CD

Hello all, Can I write to re-write and read DVD's on the Falcon's IDE bus? Drive I am looking at has these features: Read Speed: 48x (CD) / 16x (DVD) Write Speed: 48x (CD) / 20x (DVD±R) / 8x (DVD±R DL) CD / DVD Rewrite Speed: 32x (CD) / 6x (DVD-RW) / 8x (DVD+RW) / 12x (DVD-RAM) 1 x IDE/ATAPI - 40 P...

Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

PLCC sockets tend to break after a few years. IIRC all PLCC chips were resoldered directly to the motherboard in Ozks machine. This may look very difficult, but it's definitely doable. Someone with the right equipment (SMD solder stuff, good non-clean (non corrosive) flux etc) and experience might ...

Re: Eiffel Schematics

I reckon another 2 weeks for testing, then I guess I'll set something up to accept a pre-order phase (without payment) so I can gauge how many interested parties there are. Then do the production and take things from there. Great stuff! I'll keep an eye out for the announcement (likely I'll take tw...

Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

I think if you purchased a Hades back in the day with an ISA video card it used the ET4000 chip set. For example an ISA version of the Mach 64 should work. There was a guy that fixed Ozk's Hades after he wrote his off as dead. If you wish to go that path, let me know and we can track down who that ...

Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

I acquired a (free, broken) Hades060 that I'm trying to resuscitate. When powered on, it doesn't seem to do anything (no access to floppy, nothing on the screen). Here's what I've done so far (not necessarily in this order :-)): 1. changed video board 2. changed PCI slot for video board 3. reseated...

Re: Anyone have a CaTTamaran forsale ?

Just saw this train of posts by chance. I have a CaTTamaran that was removed from a TT (by a previous owner) a good while back. I do not know if it was working at the time. It is missing a 3-pin connector that should attach to the motherboard via a short wire harness (according to the docs). The con...
