Hippy Dave wrote:Maybe a wake-up delay is required for the external devices to recover from the reset instruction.
Experiment with different delays, but be sure to try 1024 clock cycles for good measure. :D

Thanks for the suggestion! I ought to try that at some point ... although TOS itself doesn't use one.

Re: The RESET instruction on Falcons

i have to agree first thing i though of is why??? next is why just to have a 'legal os' this is almost boarder line madness i think TOS is well written in the most part and easily built on using other desktops the lack of total chipset support is the issue i have with it Anyone posting in Atari-For...

Re: The RESET instruction on Falcons

Reset is just a CPU command, and has nothing with used TOS version. If you mean some special subrutine in EMUTOS called reset, then should change question .. EmuTOS seems as abandoned project - I don't see updates for years - and don't see why someone should use it at all - sorry to people behind i...

No. The same floppy works fine when a different version of EmuTOS RAM is loaded.

The RESET instruction on Falcons

As you may (or may not) know, EmuTOS is a Free operating system similar to the original Atari TOS. It is provided with GPL license, so it is totally legal and free of use. EmuTOS is commonly used with emulators such as ARAnyM or Hatari, and it also works on real hardware such as the STe and FireBee....

Re: Broken TTM195

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions! The info from the URL supplied by frank.jukas was exactly what I was looking for, so after a bit of work with Google translate, my German dictionary, and my rusty schoolboy German, I have a list of simple things to do which have a good chance of f...

Broken TTM195

My TTM195 is dead. Fortunately I have a backup, but I'd like to revive the dead one if possible. I have reasonable soldering skills, but alas no 'scope, so I can't do signal tracing. Can anyone suggest parts to replace, or point me to any online troubleshooting docs (I *do* have the maintenance manu...

Free space bug

I am running EmuTOS under Hatari on Windoze XP. If only an emulated ACSI disk image is attached, the free space reported by the desktop for each partition is correct. When a GEMDOS drive is connected as well, *all* drives (including emulated ACSI partitions) report 16777216 bytes available. The othe...

Just in case someone is looking to network his/her Atari. Spotted on ebay: SCSI Ethernet devices. 1. Asante SCSI-Ethernet adapter 2. Dynaport SCSILink SCSI ethernet adapter Not sure if the Asante works or not, but the Dynaport should work as I am using a Dynaport DP0902 on my falc. I'm pr...

Re: Eiffel Schematics

Hi Alan, I like box headers too, but I can live with either. Did a quick search on eBay, and found a DB9-to-2x5 header as item #150207155914, but there are lots more db9 extension cables! If you go the DB9 shell route, make sure there's enough space for any cable 'ears' there might be ... Thanks aga...

if nothing happens then checking clocks are running is a good idea followed by the chipsets power at various areas and reset vectors incase some TTL or other reset component has failed unplugging everything except the video is a good idea you can use a scope or frequency counter to check clocks ......

i used to use it to backup my TT about 15 years ago i did have trouble using scsi tape drives with it (i remember trying to use a DDS/DAT dive with it) and ended up backing up to lots and lots of floppies instead (thankfully i had a free and unlimited supply). it's not something i'd need to use now...

Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

PLCC sockets tend to break after a few years. IIRC all PLCC chips were resoldered directly to the motherboard in Ozks machine. This may look very difficult, but it's definitely doable. Someone with the right equipment (SMD solder stuff, good non-clean (non corrosive) flux etc) and experience might ...

I reckon another 2 weeks for testing, then I guess I'll set something up to accept a pre-order phase (without payment) so I can gauge how many interested parties there are. Re: Help wanted for broken Hades

I think if you purchased a Hades back in the day with an ISA video card it used the ET4000 chip set. For example an ISA version of the Mach 64 should work. There was a guy that fixed Ozk's Hades after he wrote his off as dead. If you wish to go that path, let me know and we can track down who that ...
