Re: Vectrex

Looked at the sync gen code, maybe I can try with an 500 pix vertical resolution, that would give an exact 60 Hz vertical frequency. Or can play with the horizontal resolution, too to produce 31kHz horizontal freq. I think the Vectrex doesn't have a traditional "refresh rate" concept, so t...

Hi! It's a known issue of the original core, wrote about it earlier in the another Vectrex topic: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=33150#p339619 http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=33150&start=50#p347632 It doesn't generate csync for 30kHz, only with YPbPr e...

Didn't notice it myself, but will check. The sound board clocking is not the best thing in the core.

Re: Vectrex

Vecrex still has poor compatibility (my picky TV says 'unsupported format', the same as in case of previous versions of this core). Thanks for your work, have a nice weekend! Vectrex is VGA only (hardcoded in the "core" of the core). If it would support 480p, I think that resolution would...

A bit of update of the Vectrex machine: https://github.com/gyurco/Mist_FPGA/blob/master/Console_MiST/GCE%20-%20Vectrex_MiST/Release/vectrex_MiST.rbf with 32K ROM + Speech support. Verzerk is so bizarre :D Also my favourite "old" arcade, Moon Patrol: https://github.com/gyurco/Mist_FPGA/blob...

Re: RAM write wait states

Processing the ST4081S.PDF: seems it's some upgraded design to the original GST MCU. I found a new chip enable signal, which is not in the original one: KSND. It decodes to FFE8XX-FFEFXX. Is there any known peripheral in this address?

Its tape and keyboard controllers are much more complicated (using a 6801 MCU).

Played a bit with SG-1000 mode, and added Sega Keyboard support. Now you can program in Sega Basic :)

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

I have lot of .TRD files which work.
I guess you are in +3 mode, since using .DSKs. The Beta interface wasn't compatible with the +3, probably most of the software on TRDOS disks also not.

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

It works in emulators only if I select 48k mode (128 48k mode doesn't work). Seems it's the ROM - needs the original 48K one, but in the core, even the 48K mode uses the ROM1 from the Spectrum 128K. I've added the original 48k ROM (and some more TZX features): https://github.com/gyurco/ZX_Spectrum-1...

It's a 48k game and it loads in BASIC 48.

CSW converted file works.

Thanks

I've converted the tzx to csw with TZX2WAV, it still resets at the end.

I also do that :) but people can also to have folder to organize cores in : Consoles, computers... There is also another improvements that maybe could be done in mi...

If somebody still misses TZX support:
https://github.com/gyurco/ZX_Spectrum-1 ... 190518.rbf

There are some TZXes which contains blocks like loops and calls, they're not supported, but hopefully the majority of them will work.

Handling an archive file is not just about the compression, it must handle a catalogue of the files, needs decompression buffer in RAM, and so on. But if somebody wants to try, I'm not against it :) The directory thing is definitely doable. Currently I prefix the arcade cores with Arcade_, then they...

Re: Using MiST to drive an Arcade Vector Monitor

However, this might be adapted to output Real Vector Graphics to a Vector Monitor. If connecting to one of the color channels to a color vector display, you would get everything in red, green, or blue. Or a connection could be to a B&W Vector Monitor, like the Electrohome G05 for black and whit...

Re: Amstrad CPC 6128/664 (NEW)

For the masochistic users, who wants to load original tapes, I've added a simple CDT player to the Amstrad core. Tested successfully with some CDTs from cpc-power.com, but it's possible that not all features covered (as TZX format is much more complicated - but the files are smaller - than TAP files...

More testing, now that I can control turbo from the osd I can see the psg is actually working correctly. Only FM sounds are a problem. Interestingly, sonic spinball only uses the FM chip and it sounds fine besides being higher pitched. And apparently road rash is similiar, fm only, audio plays back...

Also slingshot, if you look at my first attempt I'm just changing the rate of the clock, that version gives audio issues as well, so you might want to test on mister, this might only be an issue in the mister implementation. I cannot do it, because I don't have one. I've checked Sonic1 on MiST, did...
