Re: uip-tool

How much memory does uip-tool need? My ST has 1.7MB free and the program crashes with an insufficient memory error.

edit: Cleaned out my AUTO a bit, looks like the answer is a little over 1.6MB.

NetUSBee Setup

I just got a NetUSBee and I'm having some trouble getting the networking going on my unaccelerated 1040ST running Geneva and Neodesk. I've installed Sting and downloaded the Ethernec driver, ENEC.STX. The link light on the network port is on and I get only one of three blinky lights on my switch. Un...

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)

Is there an Everest serial floating around? I like it as a text editor but the shareware prompt is annoying.

Re: form_do and dialog box

Thanks for the explanation. All my dialogs will be displayed in the same place, centered on the X axis and 100px below the center on the Y axis, so that's perfect. I'm using Pure C and its libraries, so that's not a problem. I'm targeting bog standard TOS, not MiNT or anything. Now if I could figure...

Re: form_do and dialog box

rsrc_gaddr(R_OBJECT, DLG_MOVE, dialog); That should be rsrc_gaddr(R_TREE, DLG_MOVE, &dialog); (assuming that DLG_MOVE is the id of the TREE, not the id of some object) OK, now I have the dialog box becoming active but not being drawn. My dialog box contains an input box that's active and I can ...

form_do and dialog box

I'm trying to display a dialog box with form_do in a game. The dialog box is going to be shown after I receive a keyboard event using evnt_multi. In my routine, I'm just doing: OBJECT *dialog; rsrc_gaddr(R_OBJECT, DLG_MOVE, dialog); form_do(dialog, 0); However the desktop freezes when form_do is cal...

Re: Interface English manual

GEM windows don't work like I think they did.

I'll try ORCS. I downloaded ResourceMaster but it just freezes when I try to save an .RSC file?

Interface English manual

I’m working on a GEM application. I downloaded Interface and the English .rsc file. I figured out how to create and edit menus and dialog boxes but can’t find where you create and edit window resources. Is there an English translation of the manual somewhere?

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

Ran into a couple of issues with the script building on a Solaris machine: sudo needs to default to pfexec on Solaris and make needs to default to gmake to use GNU make instead of Sun's make. Other than that it seems to be compiling GCC fine - at least so far!

Re: Pure-C library output

Source code please because I would like to have such a stub for use with gcc :) AHCC and Pure C claim to be binary compatible, I never tested this and the last time I was using AHCC, Henk Robbers was very willing to help out and debug issues. He even fixed some things directly in AHCC... It really ...

Re: Pure-C library output

Huh, okay.

I could never get AHCC to work on my ST - it just freezes up or the menubar doesn’t work or it starts complaining at me in Dutch. No idea. That’s why I’m using good old Pure C.

Pure-C library output

I’m working on a GDB stub that’s linkable with TOS programs. How can I configure the project to make a .lib file (like the GEM and TOS libs it includes) I can link with other projects instead of a PRG?

No luck running in Rainbow TOS. I'll try reinstalling NVDI, maybe there's crap left over from Speedo that's messing it up.

Re: SpeedoGDOS Laserjet Driver

I found the NVDI 5 distribution and installed it - my ST just locks up during boot now. XBOOT says my run order is TOSRAM (to install 2.06), WDIALOG (required according to the manual, since I'm not running MagiC), then NVDI. I get the NVDI 5.03 splash text and nothing - no errors or disk activity. D...

SpeedoGDOS Laserjet Driver

I installed SpeedoGDOS on my ST and noticed there's a Laserjet driver included in the package. Is that just plain PCL and hence compatible with all the basic Laserjets? I have a 5P in storage but I'd rather not trek across town to grab it if it won't work with GDOS. Being able to print from TOS woul...

Re: Bash on TOS

I got it installed and working! I have a tcsh window running microemacs on my ST. It's usable on 8MHz but the main complaint is only having 4MB of RAM. Gotta save up a thousand bucks for a TT030 or a Falcon! Pretty neat curiosity on a stock ST, at least.

Re: Bash on TOS

Hmm. I got MiNT 1.18 going with MultiTOS but I can't seem to get it and the included XaAES cooperating. It loads the 68000 version of the XaAES kernel module then crashes with a bus error. Similarly, MiNT + Geneva results in TOS freezing at the Geneva splash screen with the busy bee. I can still loa...
