Re: USB Floppy support on MiSTer? Possible? Needed?

There is also Keir Fraser opensource Greaseweazle "Tools and USB interface for accessing a floppy drive at the raw flux level."

https://github.com/keirf/Greaseweazle

This might be adapted for this use with no closed source/proprietary strings.

Re: Floppy sound on Minimig core

Also it sounds like it doesnt make the classic "tick" noise when there is no disk in the drive.. this is a major omission if true.. but all in all , this should be added to the official core as the drive sounds of the Amiga (especially the empty drive tick-tick-tick) are quintessentially u...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

New version works fine with my 128mb module .. though the aspect ratio is still broken .. but I suspect thats due to not having the updated framework with the scaler and such.

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Hi all, Im trying to run this ver fxcast-012 and ver 14 and I just get a white screen, then like 3 bombs in the bottom left, then reboots. What am I doing wrong, do I need to place the TOS files in certain location. If you have a larger SDRAM module installed (eg anything bigger than the original 3...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Since I am using HDMI, I am also experiencing the previously reported problems that the core is not outputting 1080p but some other resolution. It seems it is not obeying my Mister.ini config file correctly, because I set 1080p there. In addition, and I hope this is actually a new issue, the output...

Re: Arcade cores

Is there a trusted script out there that will auto-update not only the arcade cores but also build the roms for them? ROMs are never going to be updated using a script. You need to provide your own since ROMs are copyrighted. That said there ARE public sources like internet archive at Archive dot o...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Is there something i forgot ? Does anyone have any idea of what could be the problem ? Sadly this core is using a VERY OLD version of the MISTER framework and doesnt support things like the scalers and of course the 128mb module now.. The author seems to have shelved this core for the time being.. ...

Re: Minimig RTG possible?

As you know most people use it for game playing. And there are many people who actually don't play many games at all on it.. my self most of my time is spent using it for telecom/telnet BBS and other non-game stuff and very little time is actually used to play games.. These tasks are completely ind...

Re: Video drivers for 486 core

There is also something a little wonky with the 486 core's VGA implementation.. eg I noticed in GeoWorks Ensemble the on screen gaphics are a little broken (not so much as to be unusable but there are weird chromatic aberrations around certain graphical elements, dialog boxes, window boxes etc, anno...

Re: Minimig RTG possible?

Actually there is no much use for internet connection on Amiga. Well, that's a rather subjective opinion. Without internet connection for the Amiga core, the MiSTer would be pretty much useless for me. Some of us use the MiSTer as a replacement for actual Amiga hardware, and we use it like we have ...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Yes. the serial console uses the mini USB connector between the Ethernet plug and the regular micro USB plug. Once connected Windows should assign a COM port for it, and then you can use any terminal program. I just want to check your map to see if I see anything unusual. It's a long shot but maybe...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Can you connect your MiSTer via its terminal console and read the debug output from it? https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Console-connection When you run the above on the menu core, it will print out all the USB events. That should give us a hint of what is going on with the adapter....

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

As Newsdee told, there was no change in gamepad handling. So changes should not affect the work of this adapter. Basically it just asks for 4 more buttons, nothing more. maybe the case but SOMETHING is going wonky.. I cant get Mister to recognize the buttons it did previously.. so I can't even fini...

The low-level USB handling hasn't changed. Have you tested with Windows? I had a similar issue with my 5200-Daptor, but it behaves the same on Windows so it's not my MiSTer... Worked fine before and yea tested (on my mac -- dont have winderz, tested with the app "controllers light" and al...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

There are more uses for this than just BBS.. I think a lot of old school 2 player games that could use the modem would benefit from this (like populous, battle chess, FirePower on the Amiga, etc) Perhaps it would benefit some of those games, however, I have already gotten all of those games to work...

Sorry about that. As said, real life was giving little free time lately. Hopefully that will change shortly and I'll be able to keep developing this core. I have updated the MidiLink TCP/Modem emulation (on my Github) and I am currently testing this functionality. Provided it works, and there is interest in this feature I can submit a pull request to Sorgelig to include in the next iteration of the SD installer. There are more uses for this than just...
