Re: Mist Amiga Display

@kortina: you probably mean the AGA core, as the Minimig Amiga core is not yet 15 Khz-capable AFAIK. All I can say is that I have a 72 cm 4:3 Panasonic CRT TV that I bought in 2004, and the AGA core picture running an old Amiga game looks to me exactly like the one that my Amiga 1000 produces on thi...

Re: (Poll) Most wanted new MIST cores: FINAL ROUND

The ZX-Uno PC core looks promising. Here is another PC FPGA project: user newold86 at the vcfed.org forum has built a CGA-compatible XT completely in FPGA - except for the 8088 CPU (for which he used the real thing): http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?46427-Modern-XT-compatible-PC-on-FPGA-wit...

Re: Updating the core spreadsheet

How could I download the Frogger arcade core? Didn't find it anywhere, so couldn't tets it so far... The Frogger core is here . @mist-devel Github admins: could you please add this core to the main core repository (in the arcade subdirectory)? And maybe also the PC Engine core , I assume the author...

Ok, thanks, so we have the MIST source for the following arcade cores... https://github.com/wsoltys/pacedev/tree/master/sw/synth/platform/m52/mpatrol/mist https://github.com/wsoltys/pacedev/tree/master/sw/synth/platform/galaxian/frogger/mist https://github.com/wsoltys/pacedev/tree/master/sw/synth/pl...

Re: Question: Arcade cores

Sorry for this ultra-newbie question, but since there is much more in this repository than I would have expected: what would be the right *.qpf project file to open, if I would like to rebuild e.g. the galaxian.rbf file for the MIST board? Or is this a too complicated process to describe it in a few...

Re: Question: Arcade cores

Just a brief question: where can the source code of the arcade cores be found?

Here and here only the Pacman core source is available.

Or has the source never been published by the author?

Re: Updating the core spreadsheet

Thanks for your effort. The following cores also support 15khz (successfully tested by me):
Apogee
BBC
BK0011M
QL
Spectrum
Vector06

However, I couldn't get these two cores (15kHz support according to the list) running on my old TV:
Aquarius
Videopac

Re: (Poll) Most wanted new MIST cores: Semifinals - Heat 1 of 2

As I remember, VGA is 'backward compatible' with EGA and CGA, the only exception is Hercules... Not entirely: a custom CGA palette is not displayed correctly on a VGA card (as far as I know, some special registers are missing on VGA cards). See for example Pitstop 2 and Outrun (in CGA) . If you run...

Re: TRS-80 Model I/II/III/IV core possible?

and finally, can someone report back about the scandoubler=off option? I aligned the clock with Till example so now we have a pixel clock @12.5MHz on TV and 25MHz on VGA. Let me know how that works. On my old CRT TV (PAL and NTSC-capable) via SCART with scandoubler_disable=1 it looks like this. The...

One who should know this is Lotharek. Just send him a mail and ask him (and briefly tell him who you are and what you are doing, he will be happy to hear about your work).
But ask him if you may publish this information - it is up to him whether this information should be made public or not.

As we have discussed earlier, we will stage two semi final rounds for which the best five of each group will qualify. To speed t...

Re: Most wanted new MIST cores (possible poll)

Or we could take the top five of each round and put them into two "semi final" rounds with ten competitors each? And from there the top five would qualify for the final round.
I think this would be a good approach, as long as the users don't get tired of too much voting...

Re: Most wanted new MIST cores (possible poll)

how are you going to select them for the next round? top 18 by number of votes? Unfortunately a poll can only have up to 10 options. I would say that the top two of each group, and the two best total runner-ups by votes qualify for the final round. Or would you favour having the best ten by votes i...

Ok, I have just started the polls, four qualifying rounds with 9 competitors each. They run from now on for 10 days, with three options per user. I have added four more systems to fill up the field, including the Apple I. I first thought that it contains some TTL logic, but according to here it shou...

Re: Most wanted new MIST cores (possible poll)

I have added your latest suggestions, as well as the Atari 7800 that IMHO would also be nice to have. About the Eniac: I don't know if it makes sense (or if it is possible at all) to reproduce TTL or tubes with FPGA. I don't know anything about the Eniac on a chip, but probably it reproduces the beh...
