Re: CF setup

With the CF card hooked up via the IDE port I get the same sort of problems. CF boots and then fails (Tried with 3 different CF cards) After a bit it fails to correctly pick up the CF card and just displays random characters. It will boot to TOS without the CF and the SD card does appear to work fin...

Re: CF setup

[smilie=greencolorz4_pdt_11.gif] OK Now I'm just a bit annoyed. It will only just boot then start failing. First the file system fails (SD and CF) then the mouse starts moving slowly for about 3 seconds and stops. After which everything halts (Except for the display which still shows fine). Emails t...

The other issue I'm having is that I get no sound from the Firebee internal speaker or via the audio out?

Re: CF setup

OK so the CF looks fine in Gparted (on a Ubuntu machine). Put back in the Firebee and it got half way through booting then failed. Now it only shows "Magnetic Disk error" I was thinking maybe it was the power supply so swaped that for a 13.8v 2.5A one. No change. I have a few 4GB CF cards ...

Re: CF setup

The card is toast as far as I can tell. Gparted wont access it at all.

The replacement card was working but has failed after half an hour. I need to check it tomorrow but I think my firebee may be eating cf cards or I’m just having bad luck.

CF setup

OK so my CF card has died and I've lost everything.

So how do I partition the new CF card and what do I need?

Is it a 500MB Fat16 partition and the balance a Ext2 partition for MINT?

Re: Pak68/3 32MHz on eBay

No there is a 68000 CPU with it as well as the 68030. It has a jumper which allows fallback to 68000 and standard TOS.

It’s not pictured as I did not have it fitted at the time.

Re: Pak68/3 32MHz on eBay

Sorry Rustynutt if I brought your old one. Yes this wasn't working when I got it. :D There is currently a FRAK and a PluPa on eBay (not mine). Was tempted but just can't see myself using the Pak enough to justify it. BTW I think I may have the required GAL's here somewhere for the FRAK and maybe eve...

Pak68/3 32MHz on eBay

I've just listed my second (and final) Pak68 on eBay for anyone interested.

Start price is £1 so it's up to the bidders what it goes for.

Re: I replaced my Stacy display

Second photo had the lights on. First photo is a darkish room so you can see the screen. I can adjust the contrast I can make the display the same but if you look at the top you can see the shadowing on the menu bar. The new screen has a more yellowish tinge to it but is crisp and clear unlike the o...

Re: Afterburner040 030 switch

OK so I have started on this and have most of the wiring in place. Just need to find a point on the motherboard for +12v as I couldn't find a +5vdc relay. And connect in the 2 grounding resistors. - EDIT (Found at positive pin of C110. Same place the Nova card gets its 12v from) Interestingly my aft...

Re: Falcon mods?

OK so after a bit more digging it seems the 40MHz crystal mod at U65 is following this http://joska.duckdns.org/cpu_accel/ modification by Peter Green.

The tracks are cut as best I can tell in exactly the same places by the CPU and floppy connector.

Re: Falcon mods?

So I've ordered a buffer patch from Exxos (Thanks Exxos and no hurry. I understand you've just moved). At the same time I also grabbed a fast rom to replace the old eprom thats installed. I've tried to peel the foam of the back of the 40MHz crystal board to see what the jumper is doing and it seems ...

Re: Falcon mods?

Actually with the 32MHz crystal in place by the DSP wouldn't this clash with the 40MHz crystal or are they not connected or can be separated?

I note that usually there isn't a crystal in U65.

Re: Falcon mods?

Hmm the rest of the coloured wires are for the afterburner040. I was thinking it was a 20MHz bus mod to get the Afterburner running at 40MHz however this is in my limited knowledge of course. There is a jumper on the 40MHz crystal board which if I change the Falcon will not boot. I have not ...

Falcon mods?

Hi, So after following Mikro's Clock Buffer Patch issues with the CT60e so intently I decided to investigate my own board. Only to find there is no buffer mod? Looks like I'll need to get one of Exxos's patch boards. http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u507/acsidental/IMG_4902_zps1p7vlmyw.jpg I have...

Re: [SOLVED] The most ridiculous cooling problem

Congrats.

I've been watching this with interest and need to look at my own board when I finally dig out the beast as I get sound glitches and noted somewhere in the pages you noted that this is one symptom of the clock patch being incorrect or non existent.

Re: New addition to the collection

Given the size of the hole and your question about what's worth removing I would guess it could have had a Nova Graphics card or similar as there doesn't appear to be any major modification done besides that and the size, yellowing and hole placement are about right for a 15pin dsub vga connector?
