ST Carrier Command for £5

Auction The original of Carrier Command on eBay for a fiver (buy it now price) - the guy is even negotiable! It still has the Sticker! 8O I'd get it myself but the postage would be horrendous and I don't have an ST anymore - but could be a nice buy for someone on here.. If you check his other aucti...

Seems a strange coincidence to me that the U.S. were shaking their fists towards Iran (quite rightly so since Iran publicly stated that Israel shoud be wiped off the map), and now all of a sudden some U.S. Military personnel have been captured... Actually, they were 15 British sailors. So far they'...

In the Trivia section of that link I provided, they mention that there probably was an unreleased English translation of the game as Liam Gavin and Johan Robson were credited with the game's 'Adaptation' and Liam Gavin is an established translator. Now if we could only get hold of someone who might ...

Iran is probably trying to get some help with its nuclear program.. It'll say something like it'll release the soldiers if the West will send their scientists to teach Iranian scientists better ways of enriching Uranium or give them some sort of technology they want. I severely doubt that they'll ex...

Oooh! Challenge for the cracking/translating crews there! ;)

(Hey, they've done plenty on the SNES, so why not this??)

Here's a brief profile of the French Version

It's called "Big Bug Bang".

Commander Blood

I was just wondering if anyone else had played this on the PC. I played it years ago on my 486 and went right through it twice, but at the end they hint that there may be another way to complete the game. I don't know if this is the case as it seems pretty linear, but I was just wondering if anyone ...

A lot of people seem to hang onto smoking by saying it's a critical stress-reliever... but almost anyone I've heard say that still gets incredibly stressed out :P Probably the de-stressing effects just postpone the anxiety or at best, block it out for a very short period. I did an assignment recent...

Sales people in PC World are just that - Salespeople. They generally aren't techie at all and just try to make the hard sell.. I guess it fits in well with PC World's general Modus Operandi, which is to gouge people who know little or nothing about PCs by putting a 'Friendly and Helpful' front on th...

Colonization

I was just wondering when the ST 'officially' stopped being viable for commercial programming. The reason I ask is that the 1995 Sid Meier game 'Colonization' was released for the Amiga but not ST, whereas the original 'Civilization' came out on the ST. http://content.answers.com/main/content/img/am...

I've certainly noticed the difference after going to a pub since living in Canada (where smoking is banned in pubs) - you don't smell like you've been hanging around a bonfire after a night out.. :)

I used Scan in Bolton for most of my PC stuff when I lived in the uk. http://www.scan.co.uk Line-ups could be a problem in the store - it's very popular apparently - but I never had any problems with any of the kit I bought from them. My friend sometimes orders from them by post when he can't be bot...

Agreed about the French games. Wasn't Hostages a French one? I found that pretty confusing anyway... Yep - it was called 'Operation Jupiter' in France.. I had the French version as I copied it off my penfriend when I went over there with the school exchange program. Here's a few more, from weirdest...

Nope, Harvey Headbanger was an 8-bit only title.

You can find the rom images for it at the link above.

You can find Amstrad, C64 and Spectrum emulators at
The Emulator Zone website or on Planetemu.com - if you speak French.

Thought I'd revive this rather than start a new thread.. Just played 'Grimblood' (Medway Boys 74) and it's very weird. It's also very like 'Harry Potter' too, but came out years before.. I wonder if JK Rowling ever played this game? :) anyway, Little Computer People sure is odd, if you can even call...

Wish I could go back to 3.11 and DOS, personally.. ;) I'm still running XP - my current rig couldn't handle Vista and I have no immediate need to upgrade as I don't play many on-line games.. Plus I don't have the disposable income to upgrade any computer I buy...
