Ideally the GamebaseST project needs opening up so we aren't all relying on one person to create and distribute the finished product. Too many projects can go into a terminal coma due to someone simply losing interest or motivation for a while. Fixed releases are ok but really this kind of a project...

Actually I've been thinking just the same thing, that's why I've been motivated to try to help out with working on the wiki lately and scouring the net for info on all the hardware, obscure or otherwise that was available for the ST. It's very important that not only is all the information on great ...

Wiki + hardware

I've been thinking lately that there's a lot of very useful information buried in these forums that really deserves to be transferred to a more readily useful format as part of the Wiki, especially with regards to hardware. Certain things seem suitable for just copying across and Wikifying such as c...

Had tried all these, just dropping them in without changing the command/argument format, obviously they didn't work. I just remember ages ago that some unzip programs used to use the same format. Was just being lazy! Anyway, further investigation seems to show that the command line unrar prog...

I think I need to be more specific - The Steem32.txt Gemus script fails on Vista64 because of the following section - If Key_Harddisk CONTAINS(Yes) Set_INI_Value(%dbpath%\GBSTeem.ini||HardDrives||Drive_0_Letter||C) Set_INI_Value(%dbpath%\GBSTeem.ini||HardDrives||Drive_0_Path||%ga...

Pkunzip doesn't work with 64bit OS

Pkunzip doesn't work with 64 bit versions of Windows. Is there any 'drop in' alternative? I tried a couple of command line unzip programs but the arguments were different format - also Pkware doesn't seem to offer their command line prog for download any more.

Any suggestions?

Wanted: Space 1889

I'm looking for a working copy of this most excellent game, I was very distressed after much digging for the box only to find it contained everything but the disks. The menu or two I've tried didn't seem to work. A Pasti original image would be perfect.

Noone seems to have mentioned THE game for the ST, Dungeon Master?? Here's my general suggestions which I think give a broad feel for the ST and bring back a lot of memories for people. Dungeon Master, Populous, Ultima V, F1 Grand Prix, Xenon 2, Knight Orc, any Sierra adventure, Lemmings, Sim City. ...

Captive seems to be set to default to TOS 2.06 which causes a crash once you pass the loading page. Setting it to 1.62 and it works fine with all the STE enhancements.

Was the UMS II Planet Editor ever released for the ST? I would have sworn it wasn't. I had it on order for 6 months or more before being told it's release was cancelled. I had a good look around for it when I first got net access and came across a text file on the old Microprose ftp site saying it w...

Of course, definitely as an option only. And the results are not just for making graphics look more up to date. For example there's also projects around that aim to give graphics an old fashioned 'fuzzy' look. I don't know about everyone else, but I certainly couldn't afford a monitor back as a teen...

Feature Request: Graphics Filters

Is anyone else interested in seeing advanced graphics filters added to STeem at some point in the future? This is becoming quite common in emulators these days and the end result can be very impressive. If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, take a look at the following links, they give good...
