Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge - STE enhanced (WIP)

Eero, would be possible to check somehow a current status of ACIA and IKBD under debugger? There's no debugger "info" sub-command for showing their state yet, but maybe a a debugger script showing relevant IO-register values would help a bit? For example output of this script: # --- ikbd....

Re: Fastest way to move 256 words on 68030 TT

@Eero: Thankyou for pointing that out. I have been debugging 'cold' (i.e. without the Devpac debugger) as I dont think it works inside an interrupt. I certainly dont get any display output whatsoever from Hatari in TT mode emulation, which is a shame... Could have done with profiling/enhanced debug...

Re: Fastest way to move 256 words on 68030 TT

Ok, thankyou. However, the loop is also in a (Timer B) HBL interrupt. Will this not trash the cache? Hatari emulates 030 cache and Hatari profiler counts i-cache misses and d-cache hits, so you can use Hatari debugger & profiler to investigate what happens at that level. Could be useful althoug...

In latest SainT release: http://leonard.oxg.free.fr/SainT/saint.html There is a program called "Dir2Msa" which can create a .msa disk image from files in a directory. Note: Hatari comes with 'zip2st' (Linux/Unix shell) script for converting ZIP files and directory contents into *.ST image...

Re: Hatari 1.9 and Minix: it just works

Hatari can log printer output to a file, and it closes and opens the file when you disable and re-enable printer logging. So create the logging file, enable logging, then under Minix, use tar to write to the printer device: # cd /usr # tar cf /dev/lp include src Once that completes, bring up the Ha...

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge - STE enhanced (WIP)

I've observed that limit in Steem Debuger. It has a nice feature - "Run to next VBL". In Hatari you could do the same by setting debugger breakpoint for VBL change: > b VBL ! VBL CPU condition breakpoint 1 with 1 condition(s) added: VBL ! VBL -> Track value changes, show value(s) when mat...

Re: New Atari game released: Sardonic

Actually, TOS v1.62 and TOS 2.06 don't seem to enable blitter for AUTO-folder programs either. Ah, ok, thanks for the information. As I don't own an Atari I thought that once the Blitter was activated on TOS it remained available for all the autorun programs. I do have Atari STfm in a closet (with ...

Eh, I read on only this from Wikipedia: "Rocks'n'Diamonds provides a download of approximately 50000 Emerald Mine levels" And didn't continue reading this: "however, it can only play a very limited amount of them under its primary engine; because of this, it also includes a [now] obso...

I finally tested it and I really like the graphics. And it seems to work perfectly with EmuTOS too. :) If somebody's looking into enhancing the level editor, maybe some support for being able to import some subset of 50 000+ levels from Rocks 'an Diamonds could be considered: https://en.wikipedia.or...

When you listen it from Spotify, you miss the MaxYMiser screen activity visible in the Youtube Atari video, so it's clearly an inferior option. ;-)

Re: Atari Mint on 68k Macintosh

W Window System supported MacMiNT. Jonathan Oddie contributed the MacMiNT (monocrome, 8-bit palette, mouse & keyboard driver) support in 1999, and there were few fixes in 2000, but I don't have Mac, so I don't know whether MacMiNT support still works out of the box with later WWS versions: http:...

Re: Syncing ST/STE clock with host

Originally emulated Hatari clock was synched to host, but that breaks some (ST) demos [1]. So, nowadays ST & STE clocks aren't synced to host, only emulated Mega and TT/Falcon models are (which have RTC + battery). [1] Host clock can slightly change when synched to network time, and there's anyw...

Re: HATARI can't run anything higher then ST graphics mode?

Are you trying to do this in fullscreen or windowed mode? Which version of Hatari you're using and on which OS? Have you built it yourself, or are you using an existing binary? Is it linked against libSDL v1 or v2? Are you using TOS v3 or EmuTOS?

You could try it with STEem or Hatari using different TOS versions and amounts of RAM, and e.g. trace where freezes.

, I would like to use an AUTO folder programme, for example, as I used to do back in 1990 to read the RTC of the attached hard disk host adapter. Maybe Hatari offers a native feature I could use. To be fair, although most games work with joystick in port 1, there are also some games which work only with joystick in port 0. And e.g. some STE games that work only with STE Joypad, not joystick. One can use Hatari AltGr + F1 - F4 keyboard shortcuts to toggle what's attached to each of these (por...

Re: Atari Falcon is born again as F030NG

Looking at the readme: https://github.com/salacpavel/F030NG I'm wondering: * how much of the current Falcon SW should be expected to work on it? * how much new drivers are needed for it, and who's expected to write those (for TOS, MiNT, Linux...)? * Is it supposed to be as compatible as CT40 & C...
