Re: Key codes in hatari ?

I don't want to saw me which part of the hatari code controls and send the keys ... I want to tell which key code table return that keys... So i can use it in my frontend the same... The codes are SDL keycodes. see doc/keymap-sample.txt for more info and tests/keymap/readme.txt for test programs.

Re: Geneva on Hatari (and other emus)

I'm trying to install Geneva to see what's it like on an ST emulator using enhanced video modes (800x600) on a PC. When rebooting, it has to load JAR10.PRG or it won't work. Problem is I'm using a mounted directory as a hard drive and using Autosort doesn't work on hosted OS drives. I figured I try...

Re: Wish: Feature to play Hatari without Keyboard and Mouse?

Some users are using hatari with a regular http://www.mythtv.org/ application, for most cases, hatari requires the use of the mouse to select the folder of the game and then click F1, F2, ... If you give program name to Hatari on command line, it will automatically start it and use the directory in...

Re: Program Crash

If you can reproduce the bug also on an emulator, I would recommend using that because emulator provides a lot of extra debugging facilities. With heisenbugs, the problem is triggering them. Some ways to make that more reliable / faster are: * Changing or randomizing the timings somehow, regardless ...

Re: What emulator can run the MIDI connection (computer <->

A good starting point could be using Ubuntu Studio: https://staging.ubuntustudio.org/tour/audio/ And installing Hatari to it with the Ubuntu software center. Before installing Ubuntu Studio, you can try out the live-CD/DVD: https://ubuntustudio.org/download/ Here's article from one musician moving f...

Re: Cross compiling on the PC for M680x0 and DSP56001

I'm less sure about the DSP debugger though - I found it to be a pretty useful bit of kit when I was working on my DSP fixed point library. I can't remember if it is a simulator or a live debugger - if it's a simulator then finding source for it is more likely IMO. Hatari debugger has the same faci...

Re: EmuTOS on Amiga

My issue is with the apparent waste of resource pursuing a useless feature and providing it to a community that don't give a flying fig about Atari OS. There seems to be some interest e.g. to get some Atari MIDI software running on Amiga. Whether they're HW-independent enough for that is a bit doub...

Re: Booting a homebrew OS. Is it possible?

Are you sure about that? I'm far from being an expert on computers' hardware, but for example PCs have a BIOS that is independent of the OS. I thought the Atari BIOS was independent too, even having OS on ROM. TOS = BIOS + XBIOS + GEMDOS + VDI + AES. I'm pretty sure whole TOS is smaller than curren...

Hi, Is there a easy way to use a routine in asm for a joystick detection + keyboard arrows ? (I mean I'd like to use either a joystick or the arrow keyboard). I'd like to be able to detect UP, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, but also UP-LEFT, UP-RIGHT, DOWN-LEFT and DOWN-RIGHT both for keyboard and joystick. I'...

Yeah. The ballerburg is cool. But it really needs hex editing into English sometime soon (should have happened 20 years ago lol). I've translated it several years ago to English [1] when I got OK from its author to change its sources to GPL license and ANSIfy them so that they work with newer C com...

Re: Hatari OSX debug mode

I've just noticed the debugger is heavily documented in the user guide. That's because it's intended to be heavily used, to make sure people can create their new Atari goodies more easily. :-) While there are really good native Atari debuggers (Hatari debugger is e.g. missing some features that Mon...

Re: Froggies over the Fence does not work on Hatari 1.6.2

Oh, please... today's CPU's are really fast (I run 3Ghz...) and if I try steem's fast forward setting, it feels like 10 times faster (tested decade demo fullscreen). Maybe I'll have a look at the source and hack that bit in. This would also allow to capture videos faster than standard speed. Hatari...

Yes. I think I fixed that at least 5 years ago so that Hatari worked OK on Nokia 770 / N800.

$ ./hatari.app/Contents/MacOS/hatari -D Now, when you press cmd-D the debug mode will become active in the terminal you launched Hatari from. Note that -D option isn't needed for invoking the debugger. It will just make Hatari (with old UAE CPU core) to invoke debugger automatically on certain exce...

Re: Audio vs Amiga

Again looking at it from a non technical viewpoint, I just prefer how the "real life instrument" style of audio sounds, compared the chip tune style. Sure a sampled segment of music might sound scratchy and low-res on an Amiga, but to me it still sounds better then the ST.... Some ST game...

I wonder if it would be possible to include an option for disk drive sounds like in WinUAE. Re: WHATS THE BEST ST EMULATOR ON MAC?

All Hatari keys can be remapped. Both the emulated Atari's keys and Hatari's own keyboard shortcuts.

For latter you need to know the SDL keycode that your Mac keyboard generates for the key you want to map and for former you need to know also the Atari keycode to which you want to map it.

Re: Hatari UI bugs (1.6.1)

These should now be fixed in the Mercurial repository. For first one you need to update just the Hatari UI's hatari.py python file: http://hg.tuxfamily.org/mercurialroot/hatari/hatari/rev/5c3e9eb201c7 But for handling spaces in file names (given through Hatari control socket), you need apply patch a...

I guess the slider should have a minimum size. If this is the SDL UI, it's not affected by whatever OS you're running Hatari on.

Please mail a request / bug report about that to either of Hatari's mailing lists and somebody will look into that: http://hatari.tuxfamily.org/contact.html
