Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee...what's the issue??

There is a tool dumpe2fs which displays all relevant parameters of a drive. No need for a diskeditor I guess. Maybe you have Maximum mount count set 0? Second I would only use MiNT-tools (esp. mke2fs) to setup the fs not an external computer. Third the versions of mke2fs and e2fsck should match. -He...

Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee... Mint/Xaaes issue?

I noticed that on aranym the system-clock is 48 s behind the host's clock for some reason. So I fix it by shifting the time by 48 s from mint.cnf forward (using a shell-script ;)). Now when I run e2fsck it also always complains about a wrong time or something, but apart from that there is no issue. ...

Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee... Mint/Xaaes issue?

If it's a date/time-issue: why not remove the check from the boot-process and run fsck when date is set from a command-shell?
That's what I do anyway.
But then there should be no serious errors on the fs ..

It's really a lot faster now - great!

One thing I miss is that I have to log in to 'view active topics'. Before I could always see them. I guess that's not intended, because otherwise the link would not be there when not logged in, right?

Re: Host Drive Setup in Aranym

If you bootstrap MiNT, and have C: on hostfs it is unavoidable to lose one image-drive, because unfortunately you can't assign drive-letters to the images and the first image will always be C: Maybe I'll try to boot MiNT from another drive than C:, don't know if that is possible. BTW: I gave up on n...

Re: Host Drive Setup in Aranym

That is the only thing I wrote in the aranym-wiki and just that you don't understand - very encouraging! What it says is: MiNT + built in hostfs -> hostfs-drives hide aranym-disk-images if the drive-letters clash. MiNT - built in hostfs -> aranym-disk-images hide hostfs-drives if the drive-letters c...

The aranym-MiNT-kernel has hostfs built in. I don't know what the xfs is good for.

Re: NVDI & Firebee

Just a few notes: using remap_cicons=1, and under app_options icn_pal_name=<palette> should allow to use any palette defined with palette=. If you have palette=gem, want nvdi-icons in teradesk write: app_options=desktop, icn_pal_name=nvdi. The remap is not 100% perfect yet. Also you can load any pal...

Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee... Mint/Xaaes issue?

-p means automatic repair. Newer versions of e2fsck won't repair if there are serious problems, you'll have to run it interactively (no options) in this case. But I don't think this causes your trouble. I never used -C. I can only assume that a process writes after the unmount (->teradesk, XaAES, .....

Wouldn't be mke2fs enough?

With what options do you call e2fsck?

What if you quit teradesk before shutting down?

Does it display "unmounting" on the drives that are not clean next time? Or are all drives not clean? it says.... 1. syncing 2. unmounting 3. symncing C is my boot, d is the hdd e2fs partition, f is the cf dos partition, g is the cf e2fs partition. ( e is my fat32 which I did not touch) C...

warp12 wrote:Another question...what are the best mouse options for a TT?

In one TT I use a serial mouse which needs a special driver:

Works very well depending on the actual mouse you got.

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

Me too :)

Actually you'll have to use the opposite of what XaAES uses in the fileselector. When it displays \ as path-separator use / and vice versa (depends on what XaAES thinks the caller prefers).

Just tested on a TT and the same method also works there.

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

I've just learned how to enter a full path for the print-file:

Enter the full path in the fileselector in the printer-cpx like this:

http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 59#p249626

Make sure you use / not \ in the path. No printmon nor other tricks needed.

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

I can't confirm the colors aren't sharp. Only when the display-size is quite small. Once enlarged it looks like the original. I only have used red and blue, and the 8-color-setting and did not print anything though. The best solution would be a MiNT-driver or a maybe TSR for non-MiNT that catches al...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

I tried printing in color, but have not found a color driver for DJ500C In NVDI 5.03 there is only a B&W and Grey driver for DJ500, 510, 520, and a DJ550C in 16M color. Guess it's the same driver but it offers colour (see attach). I used the later to print document in color both with Papyrus an...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

Did you use the XaAES-print-dialog? I am now pretty sure it has bugs. Works with the printer-cpx but not with qed. All is ok when I install wdialog. Didn't you mention before that using GEMDOS_PRN would be slow? All I can say for now is it's working for me as described, I even get color-pdfs with th...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

There's something wrong, wongk :) 1. Don't use the XaAES-print-dialog (global->external print-dialog) in qed. 2. Select the Interface in the cpx. 3. Don't start printmon. It will run, print and quit. At least for qed it just worked. When I have time I'll see if the print-dialog in XaAES is buggy. -H...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

I also noticed the files always go to the app's home. Maybe something can be done in XaAES about it, NVDI seems to ignore or not know about anything but the filename. You can select Backgroud-print ("Hintergrund"). Then start printmon (before printing anything), and the output goes to the ...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

I have it set to soft, so that's unlikely the reason.

I had some XaAES-crashes when testing nvdi5, and had nvdi4- and nvdi5-drivers mixed in gemsys.

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

Yes it was. Fvdi was launched in mint.cnf, and after Mint had booted, NVDI was launched manualy from the shell. FVDI has a PID of 014 because in Mint.boot process is run fsck. I removed fsck from mint.cnf and I got the right order with FVDI in PID 3 and NVDI in pid 5, but when launching Xaloader : ...

Re: Aranym FVDI + NVDI

My ps is like this: most things runs before fvdi/nvdi ??? There must be something special about TSR-pids (actually the are terminated), I don't understand it either. So the ps-output is not really reliable. Edit: The init-process that MiNT starts always has pid 1, and all processes started b...
