Re: A few Firebee questions (general & dev)

There is a $VBCC-part in the path. I don't think any program would expand this when searching for a program or file.

Did you try 8 bit?

Looks ok (with XaAES)

In 32 bit the icons are all black.

Re: Falcon MINT install reboot loop

I used the latest, mentioned this in the post. I think the problem should be around the *.km or desktop I'll check those tonight. Xaaes manual says: "You may specify any km-file on the commandline, e.g.: xaloader.prg [optional directory/]some.km" Where in the config should I place this to...

Re: Anybody running ARANYM under FreeBSD?

Either configure needs to be executable (chmod +x configure) or you should use another shell (try e.g. dash ./configure). But I did not try it myself on FreeBSD as I don't have it.

Re: Colors in bash terminal ?

Color can also fail because of non-color-aware terminfo. I've attached the terminfo-files I use in my hacked, unpublished toswin-version, they are basically from ncurses. Don't know if it works with toswin2.7. To get colors I have to set TERM=tw52-color. Put it into /usr/share/terminfo. Maybe it hel...

Re: XaAES skinning

Some interesting ideas here. I'm collecting them all :) First I guess I should make the enhanced XaAES compatible with the trunk-kernel, because I don't think anyone uses the enhanced kernel (which is actually de-hanced in some places). I think I updated xgt on my disk meanwhile, but there's no time...

Re: XaAES skinning

Looks good. The blue one impressed me in the browser, but in real use I found it a little to bright, but of course that depends. It would be better if the files would have the same spelling: e.g. grey_f.c->grey_f.grd, easier to maintain. One day you could pack it all together: grad_f-src.zip, grad_f...

As soon as the action is done the widget always returns to unselected, no matter if you still hold the mouse-button or not. I agree though, that the response is not always as expected (on aranym), I guess the selected state is too short to be displayed at all (<5ms or so). What annoys me since long ...

Re: XaAES skinning

Flat may be not the best description, it's an optical perception of the gradient which in one case seems rounded and in the other not. I guess it's coming from the color of the frame (gray at the bottom and right, white on top and left) which gives this "rounded" effect if the lighter col...

Re: XaAES skinning

I guess I like that gradient, didn't know what's possible. I would appreciate it if you could do more of this. Later the sources could be committed to the freemint-CVS if you don't mind? But what do you mean by "flat appearance"? When I have a change from {400,400,400} to {600,600,600} the...

Re: XaAES skinning

Great that someone tries it. I guess we could need some more fancy gradients for XaAES. If you find something comparable to your screenshot it would be even better. If you think the c-source needs more explanation, maybe you can carefully add comments (inside /* */)? From viewing at the source I gue...

Re: XaAES skinning

Ok, here's my english version naturally translated and expanded: Creating gradient-files You need: ahcc (in C:\DEVTOOLS, otherwise change AHCCROOT in the Makefile), toswin2, bash or another shell, unzip and an editor (e.g. qed). In toswin you: 1. unzip xgt anywhere, say /usr/src. 2. Copy one of the ...

Re: XaAES skinning

It's been a while since I've dealt with the gradient-things (and never really understood it all I think). I remember that some sort (might be vertical) needs a lot (too much) memory, I started to optimize it a little, but lost interest. You can create your own gradients if you have a C-Compiler. May...

I solve the XaAES/MiNT-version-problem mentioned by joska by detecting it like this: ... if [ -z "$XROOT" ]; then XADIR=$SYSDIR/xaaes else x=${SYSDIR%/*} x=${x##*/} XADIR=$XROOT/$x fi echo XADIR=$XADIR detectcpu ... XAPRG="xaloader.prg $XADIR/xaaes${CPU}${PRF}.km" ... gemexe $EXE...

Re: Remove drives from U:\ with Mint 1.19 ?

Actually I do this on my TT:

.../xaloader.prg /xaaes/1-19-cur/xaaes030.km

No C: or D:.

/xaaes is a symlink to d:/xaaes.

Have you tried to run XaAES from that .c/whatever directory by passing it to xaloader?

Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee...what's the issue??

What I don't get it is why my HDD from my Falcon with ext2 fs suddenly went bad and using e2fsck on it made it worst. That I don't know. But I remember when I used an MO-drive with 1024-byte-sector-size that ext2 destroyed one medium after the other. I ended up using a patched minix-fs which worked...

Re: Dirty Ext2 FS every time on FireBee...what's the issue??

You can try the patch from the sparemint-rpm. Unfortunately Alan does not provide his patches. BTW: Maybe this is for you firebee-users: E2fsck will now automatically fix a last mount time or last write time which is in the future in preen mode, instead of aborting the fsck check.
