Actually, 68000 can address 64MB. :)
It has three pins FC0, FC1 and FC2, and depend of these pins, 68000 can address four 16MB areas:
- User's Data memory
- User's Instruction memory
- Supervisors' Data memory
- Supervisors' Instruction memory

In ST, those areas are mapped to the same memory.

It is very interesting...
As far as I know, Atari's MMU can address 4096Kbytes max.

You have 4096Kbytes of Total ST-Ram, still.

Aranym has quite good emulation of DSP Do you know any real Falcon program which uses the DSP and works with Aranym? I haven't found any so far... :-( In real machine DSP is feeded via Host Port (PIO mode) or Matrix (DMa mode) Maybe, this is an issue that Aranym does not have implemented Matrix, ye...

Could you please, explain to me, how did you get 6.2 MB/s on TT? No, I cannot. I can however, ask anyone who does have both a Falcon and a TT to use the same HD and run a benchmark on that one HardDrive, and run that same test on both their Falcon and TT. good idea This will back me up, or at the v...

yes, you right, under plain TOS IDE should be better choice,
but under Magic I tend to ACSI - hddriver has option 'background dma' and you can recover unused CPU power from disk driver

No direct IDE-RAM transfer is possible (without some extra, complexer hardware, in fact some DMA system) You can use Blitter as DMA channel. In this case you can copy data from/to IDE faster - 2MB/s or you can write IDE sectors with constant value at 4MB/s (e.g clear sectors). Big advantage of the ...

ACSI and SCSI are based on SASI - 6 byte commands were directly implemented in Atari.

SCSI was standardized in 1986 - 2 years after ACSI, and SASI was renamed to SCSI level 1.

True, but the FPU will still only run at 16MHz, won't it? No, MC6888x is an asynchronous device and can you can overclock the only FPU. E.g. Falcon with CPU 16MHz and FPU 50Mhz at the same time. MC6888x is overclocking friendly: ... FPU 68882 25MHz PLCC (33 MHz tested) FPU 68882 33MHz PLCC (40 MHz ...
