Re: Editing a message

IMHO the amount of posts I've made over the years, I've rarely needed to go back and edit the original. I'd rather post an additional chunk of text highlighting the error and then moving on. I don't see a problem with this change. Those that are interested in my waffle get an update and know to go t...

Re: Editing a message

This was a recent change so as to keep the history of the forum and its threads. It saves people re-editing an older thread and then anyone who's quoted it from looking like they were quoting a completely different post (as one example).

I didn't answer that one as I had no idea what it was worth - never had one with my Jaguar setup.

Re: Jaguar + CD value?

Depends on which country you're based as I can only guesstimate for the UK. (based on a recent retro gaming event where a seller had just the CD unit - unboxed - for £350!) Jaguar boxed ~£120 Jaguar CD boxed - £200+ Controllers (all of them) plus the Team Tap - £100+ The games vary from cheap to sil...

Maybe use Trizbort to help you with making a map for it as you go through it?

Re: Loads of old computer mags in .PDF format

Mug UK: I tried this too but how to get all the subdirs? I just added each sub-directory to the queue and then re-created the folders afterwards when I moved the files to their new destination. I'm sure there's a setting you can toggle to make it look in sub-dirs, but it's not one that I've used in...

[quote="Wataru"]I just found this old post while searching for R-Type maps and tiles sets. I know it's a stretch after all these years but is there a chance that the tiles set of Level 1 could be uploaded too? The map converted to index pointers as words would also be nice to have but not ...

Jane "AVP Coder" proved to be an industry fake!

This is a real eye-opener for anyone who's ever read about this person and what they have claimed to have done within the gaming industry, especially AvP on the Atari Jaguar. https://airentertainment.biz/2019/08/30/jane-whittaker-proven-to-be-an-industry-fraud/ There's a link in the above article to...

Re: Problem with Captain America: Defies the Doom Tube (Atari ST)

Short of using Klaz's version to complete the game, if the game is broken, it's broken. Something to mention in your walkthrough perhaps? I went to look for Klaz's site but it's now appearing as Forbidden: 403 error. I will look on my offline collection of Klaz's fixes and upload it later on this ev...

After not being able to find my original .ZIP from donkey's years ago, I posted in the Atari ST Demoscene group on FB and the original creator posted his copy (cheers!)

I never did work out how to remove the protection from a compiled STAC adventure (maybe someone else did?).

The large archive of adventure walkthroughs - https://www.solutionarchive.com/ - doesn't list this game either :(

.ST are uncompressed disk images, whereas .MSA are the compressed variants. .STX are PASTI image files which, from memory, can't be written back to a floppy disk as they are used for preserving extra information about a disk, such as certain types of protected tracks. .IMG format is the same "t...

Got too used to working with Confluence in work ...

I updated the Saved Game Cheats page to include some info (WIP) of the saved game for Temple of Asphai and wow, after using Confluence for far too long it was quite frustrating trying to remember just how to get a new page, with simple text and a table on it. Did we ever get any updates for the Wiki...

Re: Had an Amiga first, then bought an ST later??

I went the other way as I bought a rather nicely souped up Amiga 500 from someone I knew who was upgrading to an Amiga 1200. It came in handy (mostly) for ripping modules from Amiga games so that I could port them to the ST via the Adrenalin UK .MOD disks. Other times it was for playing Syndicate by...

Re: Saved Game Editing source code (GFA)

I also see that Minuous' tool has grown and grown. Most of the Amiga-based games that is covered in his text file - http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/ami-form.txt - will probably also be the same on the Atari ST versions of the games. (This is, I think, where I saw the original breakdown of the saved ...

Yes, it's to prevent spammers joining the forum, making a post and then trying to PM existing members.

You're at 4 posts now, so that means you can now PM people.
