Re: Prom Burning...

Since I do not like to mess with IC pins without proper adapter I have decided to get 6 chip TOS 1.04 version that uses C256 IC's, clear patched holes on PCB and fit additional sockets to use these. Result is OK and now my German ST talks to me like it should in English ;-)

Re: Prom Burning...

So guys, anyone knows the answer for the above? I appreciate your help. (updated) ps. I guess the two TOS IC's on the photo must be 128kB altogether (64k x 16) or less so 192kB images I have found on the web are .... But 6 sockets to fit C256 each make sense cause it makes 192kB (96k x 16) which is ...

Re: Prom Burning...

Pardon me, but what is the ROM type (size) used on rev.D of the PCB, like the one on the photo below? I want to replace my German TOS with US version (1.04) and have to say little confused when looking: - at the board: 28-pin DIP which theoretically supports max. 64k x 8 chip (C512); - then onto sch...

Finally received ST Field Service Guide

After long wait I have finally received ST Field Service Guide with detailed schematics BOM and system description. The Drop-in PCB design verification needed this document badly due to poor quality of documents I have found on the net. Now the project should accelerate. I will keep you informed. :c...

If Proteus can export schematics to one of these: OrCAD, PCAD Sch, Protel, than I could use your libraries ...

MC68060 retail price

Am I dreaming or is it real... http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?lang=en&site=US&keywords=mc68060 It looks like Freescale (former Motorola) raised the price bar and distributor sells MC68060 (50MHz) for over $478 for 206-PGA version. Am I missing something here? And here i...

Re: Drop-in replacement PCB with FULL 68k BUS for Atari ST

Guys, if you cold do me a favor and let me know if anyone has better quality schematics for 1040ST machine than these available here: http://atari4ever.free.fr/hardware/doc/ For 1040sft model they look like handwritten and some of pin numbers are hard to read. I am not saying they are non readable, ...

Re: Looking for Schematics for FALCON 030

I had a feeling it's not bad price but missed the fact it's original, not a photo copy. Anyway thanks for the info. As it goes to Altium, they did a good job indeed adding 3D design modeling. Thanks for that the PCB design is no longer 2D but goes 3 dimensional where the components have their 3D mod...

Re: Looking for Schematics for FALCON 030

Thanks simbo. I'd love to use your libraries, unfortunately because I use Protel since mid 90's I probably know my newest Altium as good as you know your software so I will stick with it. Btw, I have found field service manual on eBay for Falcon 030, but the seller wants $50 bucks for it! 8O Isn't i...

Re: RGB LCD Monitor : Recommendation 08/09

I have found pretty cool true multi-system TV for use anywhere in the world in including folks from US (yes, we suffer because of lack of SCART connector). It's a SONY KLV-20S400A. Pretty slick piece of hardware and the user's manual with full spec can be downloaded from this link: http://www.sony.c...

Drop-in replacement PCB with FULL 68k BUS for Atari ST

Has anyone ever thought about redesigning the existing original ST PCB :?: I am talking about drop-in replacement PCB that would have full buffered 68000 bus available for future expansion. This would not only open the ST architecture to new ideas associated with new hardware but also would solve ma...

Re: Looking for Schematics for FALCON 030

Thanks simbo. I am waiting for my Falcon 030 to arrive. Can't wait to put my hands on this puppy. :o
Meanwhile I am planning to clean up schematics for Falcon and 1040 models and transfer (draw it) it into nice schematics in Protel and post it in PDF format.
Keep you updated

MINT WANTED! Falcon 030, 1040ST

I am looking for mint like-new condition Falcon machine and 1040 models. It is for private collection so items have to be in pristine condition with plastic parts with no signs of wear nor discoloration. If anyone has such unit in possession and want to make some bucks out of it, please let me know....

Re: 1040STFM and Falcon030 price check (Brisbane, Australia)

A lot of depends on the condition of the item. For some collectors mint condition machines can be worth a lot for money. For example, just recently I have found on one of the European auctions, the Facon 030 in mint condition boxed for $600 (US). That is a lot of money, but for people almost 20-year...
