Re: TTF-GDOS Setup

The archive I downloaded had a mixed version of the software, a mix of 2.2 and 2.1 tools. I redownloaded from another source and it worked. I wasnt too crazy about the rendering though.

TTF-GDOS Setup

Has anyone managed to get TTF-GDOS 2.2 working? I've tried yesterday but under all my efforts I only managed to load a GDOS font and not in the font size I wanted. Atari works reported that the font loaded was only of 20/40 pts. TTF fonts were not loaded. These fonts worked perfectly with nvdi 3.01 ...

Probably the CT60 ram. You might just need to clean the contacts. I used to do that ever so often.

Also, silly question, did you remove the jumper?

Re: No Atari ST core?

The creator of the MiSTer has said in multiple occassions that he has no interest in the ST because he considers it a bad system so there is very little likelihood that the ST core will be ported over. Now, why Sorgelig decided to use an Atari ST forum for MiSTer is a bit of a mystery. I wouldn't us...

I think that we need something more akin to chrome's make this page mobile friendly mode or firefox' reader mode and forget totally about how the site wants to display the webpage. A recent pc has a hard time displaying modern websites.

Re: Going into demo creation in 2017?

Saying GFA is not good enough to program any demo in is like saying with 16 colors you can't make good gfx (and there are enough 16 color gems to proof otherwise) So ASM is faster, true, but putting the rest down feels to me like disrespect, sorry. Anybody should be able to make a demo in whatever ...

Re: Going into demo creation in 2017?

Yes absolutely. My main suggestion would be to start with simple stuff and not to try very elaborate demo effects. It's also ok to cheat. A good idea is to put a few sprites on screen and have them do something interesting for example. As for programming I use GFA Basic but if you speak any other pr...

If you think the uk press was bad.. a greek magazine did a full page review of disposable hero on the st. They even commented on the quality of the samples and said the amiga version was very similar. So i add disposable hero on the list and i am looking for any copy.

Re: GFABasic or STOS or other?

Boo hiss! STOS is amazing, and if you are looking at writing games, then I'm sure the library of extensions for STOS will blow away anything available for GFA. However I'll concede that the editor & support for GFA will be much better. I believe the best resource for STOS nowdays is [Exxo's STO...

Open sans. Google fonts can be loaded online and are not platform specific. You will get consistency accross devices like that. Also open sans has all chatacter sets. Roboto doesnt have greek iirc.

Hi, and welcome. Well, I can't speak for Lonny, but I am not sure that 1.71 is the latest version. I haven't had any problems running GBE on any of my systems so my first guess would be that you downloaded the coldfire executable. Try redownloading from the site. http://96-32-243-246.static.oxfr.ma....

Re: New program: "Serial Disk"

Hi, I am trying to use serial disk (windows 10 - atari megaste) but the system refuses to work. I get a busy bee on the atari. I suspect that serial disk is not using the proper serial port on the megaste and since there are no atari configuration options I can't change it. However the Mega has Seri...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

I don't really get it. Someone spends his time creating a tool for his own stuff and then releases it for anyone to use and people complain. Not because it's broken or anything, but because it's not done in the way they want it. I don't think ggn said anywhere that it's a replacement of anything. It...

Well, it's not the cpu speed that has this effect. It's the 60Hz refresh rate. You could run it at a TV with 50Hz.

Re: FireBee revival

Well David Galvez had the right idea. Make GEM wrappers for open source applications. A python port would help as well. Add an applications category in demo parties or something silly like that. However most things are integration with cloud or web nowadays. Also we need a software repo and a softwa...
