Re: Good bye

The moment something is released it becomes public information. So description, screenshots and other information should be allowed to be posted and categorised by others. An argument can be made about distribution though. If the author doesn't want the software distributed that should be their righ...

Yes probably. Just do it using extension cords. There is no reason to damage the stick.

Re: Phoenix Database

So does anyone know how to create entry forms? What is for you "entry form" ? Do you mean form for input data,or query form, or something else ? So, if you mean form for input data, you create it in Designer, after you create table. Any form you create in Designer is visible in Manager, a...

Re: Did the Atari Jaguar Leave a Lasting Legacy!?

darklight wrote:@christos what do you mean "new role as an ST based console" - I thought the Jaguar was a totally different architecture to the ST line?

Most of the new releases are ST games ports (in the most basic of terms using a kind of emulation of the ST's video format).

Re: Did the Atari Jaguar Leave a Lasting Legacy!?

I don't know about legacy, but it did leave us a "nice" community... Also, 3d graphics on the jaguar are an afterthought. It's nice to see its new role as an ST based console. It is interesting to watch the evolution of what could an ST based console be like.

Re: FireBee in NYC

For greek you need to install UTF-8 TrueType fonts and make it usable via NVDI. For example I had good experiences with "DejaVu" from Linux. Than some programs like Highwire and PapyrusX can use several languages without problems. I tested Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic and Hebrew without issues...

Re: FireBee in NYC

Unfortunately not in Greek. Atari uses the old dos codepage, cp737 and not something standard, so modern programs can't access the text. They just display various random characters.

Re: FireBee in NYC

And highwire too, but reading is a whole different thing to writing. I see. There are some workarrounds to exchange the documents. In some cases you dont even have a software to work on the Atari. But still you in some cases Atari can be usefull. Papyrus for PC exsists and documents made on Atari c...

This is nice! I just recomend to use Atari keyboard instead of USB one. I know now you have it :) I hope you will find it useful for any kind of job you need to do. Re: PLATOTERM - solving the screen redraw problem, need input.

Yes, TOS routines for the serial port are terrible. You've done something right if you got it to work at even 9600 bauds but it is very likely it will fail in another machine without HSMODEM. As for the cookie jar, take a look at the Atari compendium documentation. http://www.yardley.cc/atari/compen...

Re: PLATOTERM - solving the screen redraw problem, need input.

Hard to believe Plato being a 70s application cannot be implemented on an ST that's with a decade of advancement. soo true Why? The way i understand it is that it's basically an emulator that has to run in a GEM window at a certain speed. I think that ignoring GEM is a better option though. After a...

Re: Porting SOTB to the Falcon

Yes it can. Hardware scrolling has nothing to do with the bandwidth. The only restriction is that you have to set the screen address to an even word, so for horizontal scrolling in TrueColor you can't scroll an odd number of pixels per VBL, i.e., 2 pixels per VBL are the minimum. Actually, even thi...

Re: Porting SOTB to the Falcon

The funny thing is that if i remember correctly the falcon can't do 1vbl horizontal scrolling in hi color. Not enough bandwidth.
