Re: shadow of the beast ST (Mark mc cubbin here)

Let's just wait for the village idiot's response now! Let me make a guess. The st can't do a better sotb. Those who coded for the Amiga were bad programmers that didn't care for the machine. The st coders were brilliant but just couldn't do anything better because the st is crap. I also read the Fa...

Cool video (I'll follow the series closely)

But.. I'd like to see it progress into more than just explaining branching and looping, but to how to actually create a useful program.

Re: Good bye

The admins of Demozoo and Pouet are being rediculous in this matter. They have taken and published work that the author has put in the public domain. This does IMO grant websites, publications the right to comment, link and discuss the titles. Hosting the files is not reasonable when the author mai...

Re: New Joystick Introduction!

I will give my opinion: I would like two new joysticks, one that corresponds to the retro aesthetic (Atari in this case) and another that is truly ergonomic (PlayStation type) and that includes an auto-fire button; I would buy both if its price is reasonable, for other prices there are already alte...

Isn't it though? Anything else is far more memory hungry on a 4MB ST.

The moment something is released it becomes public information. So description, screenshots and other information should be allowed to be posted and categorised by others. An argument can be made about distribution though. If the author doesn't want the software distributed that should be their righ...

Re: Phoenix Database

So does anyone know how to create entry forms? What is for you "entry form" ? Do you mean form for input data,or query form, or something else ? So, if you mean form for input data, you create it in Designer, after you create table. Any form you create in Designer is visible in Manager, a...

darklight wrote:@christos what do you mean "new role as an ST based console" - I thought the Jaguar was a totally different architecture to the ST line?

Most of the new releases are ST games ports (in the most basic of terms using a kind of emulation of the ST's video format).

I don't know about legacy, but it did leave us a "nice" community... Also, 3d graphics on the jaguar are an afterthought. It's nice to see its new role as an ST based console. It is interesting to watch the evolution of what could an ST based console be like.

For greek you need to install UTF-8 TrueType fonts and make it usable via NVDI. For example I had good experiences with "DejaVu" from Linux. Than some programs like Highwire and PapyrusX can use several languages without problems. I tested Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic and Hebrew without issues...

Re: FireBee in NYC

Unfortunately not in Greek. Atari uses the old dos codepage, cp737 and not something standard, so modern programs can't access the text. They just display various random characters.
