Re: Firebee: the long game?

Reading this thread makes me a little sad. If some people think full compatibility is mandatory, then use emulators or the old machines. Firebee developpers have worked hard enough on the hardware, operating system and developement softwares. This computer is usable and really fun if you like GEM ap...

Re: netsurf and SSL certs

One more thing: if your quickest machine is TT 32MHz, it may not work due to the heavy computations during SSL Handshake (agreement between client and server at SSL/TLS connection start). If CPU is not fast enough then SSL Handshake will fail with a timeout (60s usualy). 060 or ColdFire is the minim...

Re: netsurf and SSL certs

Reminder: Netsurf uses its own SSL/TLS layer (openssl?). PolarSSL.ldg is a library opened for every program, but one has to code to use its API.

If the CA bundle is needed: https://curl.haxx.se/docs/caextract.html (I pick the latest file for PolarSSL.ldg new archive).

ST-Computer different versions?

I noticed a strange behavior about the magazine. One article in 06/2018 was supposed to review one of my softwares on page 33, I asked to read it in advance (thanks again Matthias Jaap), but I find in the online and public pdf that this article was removed, even on the cover and menu. I quite don't ...

Re: Atari Screensaver for Firebee

I don't care about screensavers anymore. FireBee is too precious to run it without using it. But if one is interested, then it would be interesting to adapt my old RageCalm utilitary. GFA source is provided in the archive , you just have to clean PCI Rage screen on/off, recompile it for v4e. The &qu...

Road Runner, 16 colors GIF format. Almost complete (just intro + game title?). Palette is not yet correct on landscape scenery. Sprites/masks are not individualized = not worked = on same image set.

As I released the DOTC rip work there, I release some others here. Maybe others will add archives/pics or use them.

Re: Defender of the Crown

Here is a file containing the graphics rips, 16 colors GIF format. Masks are not yet done. All is there except for the love scenes (I'm pretty bad at courtesying ladies). I had a project to make a "DOTC reloaded" with 1 to 4 real players using tcp/ip layer, something more strategic than mo...

Re: Load image in gem app

Nearly. Most of the times, DGI or VDI = 20 bytes corresponding to the MDFB structure + datas of the image, in separated planes = standard format. Sometimes, I put also the color palette in this file (bytesize = number of colors * 6 INT) To convert to the screen format = device-dependent format, then...

Re: Load image in gem app

No. SND format is for the YM chip. You have to edit partitions with a SND "tracker"/editor.

Here, we are talking of DMA sound with digitalized datas. 525.PRG: WAV or whatever to RAW.

Re: Load image in gem app

Sounds in my games are raw format (no header). I use 525.PRG (five to five) sound converter, the data are directly used for DMA sound functions. use 525.PRG directly on Hatari, I don't think it will run on the FireBee. Sorry, can't find it on the internet, so provided in this post (sorry if the auth...

Re: Load image in gem app

Interface is better for icon management, but Ressource Master can do it also. Finding the import option is hard, but it can be done, in the icon editor, click the icons on the top-left which enable other icons, one of them is the import function. Create your icon the save size of the image. The size...

Re: Load image in gem app

Yes, but as color icons. In Ressource Master or Interface, create a color icon and import the image in XIMG format. You'll have a palette problem, so convert your image to NVDI palette (better than standard TOS/GEM palette). You can unset the selected version of the icon, and some 1x, 2x, 4x bitplan...

Re: Load image in gem app

Also, the TRM module crashes in 256c screenmode: it can't handle the "packed pixels" screenmode of the FireBee (big difference on the Falcon, the 256c screenmode is "interleaved" bitplanes).

I suggest you try on Aranym or AtariX or Hatari.

Re: Load image in gem app

The converter uses PARX.SYS modules for image/gif loading. GIF format should be standard, works with the macOS softwares my setup.

Also take care of the 68k or CFv4e version, setimage.org is old, there is not FATAL test to know about the used CPU.

Magnum is old fashion. Try MonSTEr (still available ?). I bought a MonSTer for my MegaST, which enabled me to tests my programs with MagiCNet.

Saved location in the parent folder in Litchi: your request may be possible. -> in the TODOs. Maybe a release this end of month or February.

It is sad that there are no good tutorial/videos about modern mint development for gem apps. A video or even a tube channel won't be enough. Worth a try (Vincent Rivière ?).
