Re: Droid 2!

Just came back here after seeing the thread on AA about this. It's a shame that his website is no longer up, but glad it's still accessible through archive.org. I had lost the disk images a while back, so I'm quite happy to have them again! Miles had emailed me about Droid out of the blue back when ...

Wow, that's shocking news. I didn't really know her, but have remembered seeing her post here and at AA over the years. Very sad news indeed. :(

I'm on there, and wouldn't mind having a few more (non-Russkie) European friends on there. See my AA profile for the URL. :)

Re: The Obligatory 'Introduce Yourself Thread'...

Wow, it's been a long time since I've come around these parts, but may as well introduce myself anyway... Some of you may recognize me as Sauron (well, duh), the creepy global moderator over at AtariAge who loves abusing his authority and locking threads on a whim. :) In all seriousness, I've been a...

Re: TT vs Falcon

Yes, this is an old thread, but I have to take issue with the comment about 256 color mode on the A1200 being faster than on the Falcon. I own stock machines of both and I'd have to say that the Falcon's 256 color mode is much faster than the A1200's. AGA graphics had more colors available, but it w...

I don't remember which one game was the first I played, but I remember getting several games with my first 520ST, notably Brattacus, Ikari Warriors, and Buggy Boy. Buggy Boy was the one that had me hooked the most, and made me forget about the 130XE that I traded in order to get the ST.

That remix is pretty awesome.

Good to see someone post some RG goodness on their blogs. I was just thinking about making a post about RG games (Superfly, specifically) on my Myspace blog. Mind if I add you on there, Heavy Stylus?

RG chip tunes

Are any of the RG chip tunes available for download anywhere? I'd especially like any MP3s of the chip tunes from Superfly and Godpey. Thanks in advance!

I have Graveyard also, Miles had sent it to me along with Droid 2 and Hoog. He warned me that it didn't turn out too great, but playing it showed that while it felt incomplete, the gameplay certainly had a lot of potential.

Droid 2!

Droid 2 is finally available! Miles Lord just sent me the link to his website, which he just recently started. He's got just about everything he made for the ST on there, including a map editor for the original Droid! I had never heard of another game, Hoog, until he mentioned it to me, which is als...

Droid was a PD game, but is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I would definitely rank it above any other ST platformer that I've played. What's funny about seeing this thread though...I just received an email from the author of Droid thanking me for my comments on the game that I left...

I didn't either, but I never had a Megadrive/Genesis. I was too jealous of watching my friend play it on his Amiga, so I wanted to get it for an Atari. :)

My old ST's never had any problems with running in 50hz mode, although you will notice the screen flicker a little, and the picture might need a little adjusting to get centered. Going back to 60hz will put it right back to where it was, though.

I didn't think the Jag version was that bad. Sure, they didn't spruce it up for the Jag, but I wasn't really expecting them to. It's still a fun game to play, and have yet to really see a "horrible" port of it. I do think it's too bad that it never made it to the ST, though. :(

A new ST game would be a good thing. Unfortunately, this Mecha Naught game never existed, and will never exist. It's a fake. I have no reason to believe that Doug is trying to pull one over on us. He's referenced this game quite a few times in the past, and only just recently unvieled it to the pub...

Well that's odd... we've tested it on all kinds of hardware & just running it in VGA has never been a problem. Could it be anything to do with being in the US?
