Re: Steem for Android OS?

AFAIK it requires NASM to build, which means that it's probably x86-dependent, so I don't see it happening easily as most of the phones running Android use ARM CPUs. Apparently there are C substitutes for systems that don't support assembly. Can you develop in C for Android? Hmmm, apparently yes. I...

Re: List of Arduino users on Atari Forum

I think a good solution (as we tentatively discussed) would be to make an Ethernet or Wireless solution that allowed ANSI terminal programs to communicate with Telnet based BBS's. I love this idea  I offer my help to anybody wants to have a go on this project. Not sure how I can help, but I...

Re: how to know how much RAM my program needs?

I think I have found the answer myself :)

Code: Select all

PRINT FRE()

It shows the amount of free available memory, so with this I can figure out if my program can run on different configurations.

how to know how much RAM my program needs?

Is there a way to know how much RAM my program needs? I mean once compiled. I want to know how much RAM my programs are using, so I can tell if it can be run on a 512KB RAM, 1024KB RAM, etc.

Thanks a lot.

Indeed is for a TOS app. I haven't figured out yet how to use .RSC within my GFA BASIC programs to do a full GEM program.

Re: Masking password?

Maybe I was not clear, no matter what you do, GFA cannot do what you are wanting with any of the built in INPUT commands. You literally have to write one from scratch, and activate the cursor as needed. I wrote one in about 10 minutes: Thank you very very much lp  . I have learnt alot from ...

Re: Masking password?

or try gemdos 8 Cnecin Thanks, but Cnecin() read a character only. Same can be achieved with a$=INP(2). But I want to read a string not a single character. There is Cconrs(), which reads a string, but echoes to the standard output stream. I guess I could define the standard output stream as to be s...

With that, the thickness can be reduced to a fraction of the actual size.

Otherwise nice work.

Re: Masking password?

Swapping the font would work, didn't think of that. I'm not sure how to do that. It's possible to turn the console cursor on/off and thus you can have a cursor that way. See xbios(21) documentation. I haven't used bios(), xbios(), gemdos() calls before. I tried Void Xbios(21,W:0) and nothing...

SOLVED: Atari<>PC serial connection issue

I'm trying to connect my STe to the PC through a serial null modem cable, to use it as a terminal. I have an issue that seems something like double CR when pressing Return, but I'm not 100% sure. On the PC I have Windows XP running Cygwin, and I do: /usr/sbin/agetty -w -h -L 19200 ttyS0 ansi On the ...
