Re: Align inside BSS section

FOUND IT ! the * is the location where i am now. then substract the BSS lokation from it. then put empty spaces in place when not alighned. so this looks like I have done something similiar with a macro in devpac when trying to optimize a program for the 030 caches. As some have stated alignment on...

Re: Protext under Mint - How to stop desktop menus showing through?

Tos programs are not a problem, you can run them in toswin2. But such pseudo-gem-programs that think they can just take the whole screen usually are. The original GFA basic editor is a famous example. Its not that you can really blame them, since by the time they were created there was no such thin...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Oy, that's unfortunate about the Hades. But for the IDE drive, you could put it in a IDE-to-USB enclosure (or other methods) and image it with DD and then mount the partitions and copy the files over to another filesystem, then you would have access to all the files again. I do this with my Hades (...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Yes, I have the same issues as Kroll. I had to switch to Jinnee as the desktop for MiNT on Hades (but I prefer it anyway :D ) SET_MMU.PRG is causing problems with MiNT, I used the default configuration file you refer to and (the only change I made was to adjust the TT RAM line to fit my machine's m...

I've seen snapshots of others using TT emulation, however I can't get it to work. Always crashes after the memory test. Tried different ROMs, settings, etc, nothing seems to help.

viking272: it has been done in that hypertext, too. :) Strictly speaking, it's still an illegal "copy" of the book but with all the html versions around I guess nobody cares anymore. Yes I checked a few Errata changes and they are included in the Hypertext. However there were a few versio...

Re: Atari Compendium

Really, all Mr. Sanders did was reorganize Atari's pile of binders (devkit) into a book. If you ask me, his copyright only applies to the presentation style, not the information contained within, which belongs to Atari. ;)

Have a look at GODLIB: http://rg.atari.org/source.htm
Also this: https://bitbucket.org/d_m_l/agtools/src/default/

Search on this forum for GODLIB and agtools to see related threads.

Re: GFA BASIC Atari compatible to Windows?

I guess I'm still not clear. There's a v3.6 from GFA Systemtechnick. The last known version. The original package upon which my GEM editor is based. It assumes good ole SingleTOS. This is not on my website. I have not used plain old TOS for many years. On my web site is: GBE v1.71 which is compatibl...

Re: GFA BASIC Atari compatible to Windows?

Version 3.6 doesn't play well with MiNT. GBE (http://gfabasic.net/) was written specifically for MiNT. My suggestions in more detail:
Atari machine or Hatari with good ole SingleTOS -> version 3.6
Atari machine or ARAnyM with MiNT -> GBE

Re: GFA BASIC Atari compatible to Windows?

The base language is more or less the same. I think the windows version will mimic alert boxes, and file selectors. However, if you start to do Atari specific or Windows specific stuff then you run into problems trying to port listings. The Atari version stopped at 3.6 and the Windows version kept p...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

The Hades060 shipped over-clocked @ 60Mhz. Not sure what the CPU load was since playing music wasn't a priory as I have a 7 disk changer on my home audio system with a remote. ;) It also plays YM chip tunes since it has a Yamaha chip, just like an ST/TT/Falcon.

Re: Firebee: the long game?

Compatibility with legacy software is even less than clones like the Hades and Milan thanks to the CPU differences. I don't agree in that point. I also had a Milan for many years and I feel more software is running on the firebee. Mp3 player, games (Arkanoid) and such I was missing on the Milan. Th...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

Well I still really like the Firebee and it's a great machine and still the most compatible tos clone. Never seen a Hades060 I'm guessing? I could run the original GFA editor at 1280x1024x256c with a simple patch program. On the FireBee the original GFA editor is a complete no-go. I don't think the...

Re: USB printer driver project

Today I did a test of the zView PCL export module, with a 16M color photo. I dropped the resulting PCL file on the printer icon in TOS 4. I was surprised to see a near-photo quality printout. With ImageCopy, the same photo is dithered, although still fairly nice. Curious what video mode you used wh...

I found some Atari software searching the net a while back. I can't say if it works or if it's complete. Search for 'hotz' at devdocs.
