Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

Karting Grand Prix... possibly the worst apology for a game that ever existed. Think 'Supersprint' but drained of any fun and playability. ATROCIOUS! ...20 odd plus years later and the thought of laying out a fiver for this still hurts... and I still have it  Btw, Joe Blade and Edd the Duck wer...

Re: Need a link to someone who mods STs

I'd recommend getting a Gotek drive fitted. This allows you to use a USB stick instead of floppy disks.

This is the solution I went for when 'retrofitting' one of my STs.

Works well :)

Re: Most catchy st tune ever

Well I have spent all morning so far with the tune from Ranarama going through my head. It got me thinking - what is the catchiest st tune ever? What gets stuck in your head for days? I'll start off with 2 nominations. Ranarama Zynaps Note that they don't have to be your favourite tunes just the on...

Nice one.

It's too late (...early) to have a good look around now, however, I'll sink some time in over there at the weekend for sure.

I continue to be amazed with the new 'old' software that still surfaces periodically.

Been dipping in and out of the forum a little less than normal lately (due to work commitments)... and this thread somehow totally passed me by. :? 22 pages (and approx 30 mins) later, and I'm finally up to speed with the MiST. Thoughts...? Hmmmmmmm, with my original ST hardware still at hand and an...

Was this the final release? Were there any database updates? This is a GREAT tool. :D Uhm..... rather embarrassingly I can't remember myself. It's been so long... Okay, had a quick rake around on my HD as I type this... and version 3 was the last major revision, although I have version...

Listening to it right now (on rotation)... great stuff indeed. :D

I really must make more of an effort to search out and download similar music of this ilk (ST music remixes, reworkings etc).

Re: End of the Line for Guardians

I relented and attempted to sign up for 4Shared to grab the pdf. Sadly the multitude of scripts it runs don't work on the prehistoric version of Firefox I run (and no more Firefox updates supported for Win98 unfortunately). :( Any chance someone (Muggy, Shredder) could upload/attach the rar to this ...

Re: End of the Line for Guardians

Although I officially left Guardians in Dec 2011 and knew this day was coming, it is still very sad. :( Ultimately, one person had the keys to the castle and they seemingly vanished off the face of the earth. Guardians paid the price. :( Did anyone manage to get stuff off the web before it went ? No...

Re: Floppy disk cleaning kit - on Ebay - not mine

As the moldy floppy was in the drive before, I use the floppy cleaning disk to takes off any mold stuff from the floppy drive head. This is exactly the reason I bought one. My external drive refused to read disks after I carelessly inserted a mouldy/damaged/scratched disk - I really should always c...

Re: Floppy disk cleaning kit - on Ebay - not mine

I bought this a couple of months back to sort out my external disk drive. Seems not bad for a few quid. Rather embarrassingly though, it took me a good few minutes to work out why the heck no solution would come out of the bottle when squeezed. Turns out the bottle nozzle had no hole and therefore n...

Does anybody have scans of issue 35, 40 and 42? (I have heard that issue 42 was the final one). I don't have the final few issues, but from research I did a while back (I used to run a website called 'The One Coverdisk Basement' ;) ), I ascertained that the final issue was Issue 43 in April '92. Re: Why did you buy your first ST/STE/Falcon?

Given that a lot of folks around these parts (myself included) were mere kids back in the glorydays one obvious reason that a lot of folks got STs was that it was their parents choice! That's certainly true for me. I believe it was purchased for it's educational (and business) potential. Games were ...

Re: Strange files on a cracked game disk with snasm68k insid

SNASM (from memory) was a development tool used by companies so they could develop on a host machine and then send the compiled code to the destination machine. Sounds about right. I came across SNASM a while ago while doing some Atari ST research from some old magazines. 1. 'SNASM' was a custom se...
