GFA Tile game

Can anyone offer advice about going about loading an image offscreen and grabbing specific areas of said image to make a tile game. For instance, Rogue has this .NEO image with all of the art assets and I figured it might be useful in learning how to use this with GFA BASIC to make a simple tile gam...

Play .MID files on YM

I'm trying to help a friend locate a .MID file player for the ST that will output from the YM chip. I have very old programs like MIDIPLAY, which plays .MD2 files and The Music Studio that plays .SND, but cannot seem to find anything that will handle .MID

Any suggestions?

Re: SM124 vs Schneider MM12

I worked in a seafood restaurant in the late 80's and the POS terminals had Goldstar monitors that looked exactly like the SM124. I suppose that isn't a surprise since Goldstar made the monitor for Atari, but I found it fascinating as a teen.

Is the ATARISND.DRV selected in the MUSIC.PRG? I'm betting that you have the MT32 selected.

Re: For sale: Music software/hardware

I see you have some Jaguar games as well. Are those for sale? If so, how much do you want for Power Drive Rally? Will you ship to the USA?

So many questions.....

Yes, it is an annual event held in New Jersey, USA. I had a great time, but it is exhausting interacting with so many people in one weekend :)

Antic Digispec

Anyone have a copy of this? Digispec Works with your Computereyes digitizer to capture 512-color images from a video camera or VCR. Then it displays the image on your color monitor and lets you adjust the color balance, brightness and contrast before you save it to disk in Spectrum 512 format. On to...

Re: Couple TT hardware questions (UltraSatan, TOM, and NetUSBee)

My TT sometimes works with my NetUsbee, sometimes not. I find that if I plug another cartridge into the port, reboot with that. Remove that cart and reinstall the NetUsbee that it often will then work. My cartridge port is finicky in general though. I used to be able to use my Spectre GCR with my TT...

Re: Reddit Holiday Music Week VI

Nice, I like MT-32. Do you use voices fdrom default sound bank or did you programmed them? It is the default bank. Since I do not read music very well, just figuring out the notes and their lengths was hard for me. I found a site that explained the MIDI ON/OFF codes as well as the MIDI note numbers...

Reddit Holiday Music Week VI

I've submitted an Atari ST entry into the /r/Retrobattlestations Holiday Music Week contest on Reddit. I wrote a program in GFA BASIC on my Atari ST that plays Silent Night on my Roland MT-32 and displays a picture of Christmas Balls I photographed with an Apple QuickTake 200. I needed to learn how...
