Re: 68020 booster

So we've made the decision to do a v2 board and use a Xilinx CPLD : XC95144XL (100-pin TQFP). This means a new round of board, learning to solder these with my new reflow oven (aka learning to lay down the solder paste in the right quantity then fix bridges between pin), learning the Xilinx tools (...

There is no concrete plan yet for any kind of mass production.

I have material for 2 more interfaces (PCB, ICs, connectors etc.), so I can sell these 2 at least.
Please send a PM in case you are interested.

Goodday pakman here i used the Nova_adaptor rev.2[1], there also a few other revisions of the schematics and i found errors on the others. i also used VME16M.JED. I am using the jumper setting for the MSTE, for the ET4000 card on my TT. Also Jumper 2 and Jumper 3 are not used as mentioned on the sc...

Re: IDE Interface for TT 030

That's not relevant in fact, because all what TOS does is loading IDE disk MBR - after that all is on driver. So, yes for patch, but only for twist :D Yes, you are right, TOS is reading (and executing) the root sector only. But once the driver is loaded, does it also replace XBIOS 42/43 DMAread/wri...

Re: IDE Interface for TT 030

Last year I talked to Uwe Seimet and he stated that he does not need the INT line on a ST. Did you already talk to Uwe about this feature? I know, polling the Alternate Status Register will do the job. But I was looking for the fastest way to get the status.. So you can finalise the running bus-cyc...

Re: IDE Interface for TT 030

I've seen that you connected the CPLD to D16 and D17. Is the purpose of this to configure the CPLD with self-written software? Experimental features.. With move.b $F0003F,D0 you can read back the status of the INTRQ (bit 0) and the IRESET# (bit 1) line. If the driver SW knows about this, then there...

Re: IDE Interface for TT 030

Is it compatible to existing harddisk drivers like HDDRIVER or CBHD? Basically yes, but: The data lines are twisted (D0..D7 swapped with D8..D15) as proposed by ppera. This way you can get maximum speed when using a DOS compatible format since you avoid SW byte swapping. Anyhow, it requires a suita...

IDE Interface for TT 030

Schematics for an IDE interface for Atari TT 030.
Data lines are "twisted" according ppera.

Plugs onto the Fast-RAM connector (Fast-RAM can still be used) plus 2 external wires (/DSACK1 and /INT).

ill do the routing tomorrow etc. I see the address line routing is somewhat scrambled, for no reason. To make routing easier, I propose to rearrange the address lines: SIMM pin : Current -> Proposal 1st F157: 12 MA0 : MAD0(A2,A3) -> MAD0(A20,A21) 13 MA1 : MAD1(A4,A5) -> MAD1(A18,A19) 14 MA2 : MAD3(...

possible the signals are 1 step ..nop... apart as the ram used in the magnum needs to symtrical like 32X32 or 64X64 There is also an idea how to support asymmetric DRAM chips as well.. so please check it over and the bus labels im sure its aok as per the addition but as usual ill check again anyway...
