The fact that one is trying to make it contemporary looking, updating with contemporary pieces of hardware etc is trying to get away from the past.

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

To what extent? It's not like gdb doesn't work at all with newer GCCs, it's just... buggy. For instance you set a breakpoint and it's missed. Or you are tracing code and it suddenly jumps etc. So if your gcc 4.5 really works at least as good as 2.95, I'd say it's worth investigation. Where did you ...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately my development is on the Atari platform. I think v2,95 is no longer on my disk as I am using v4.5 (or something like that). gdb seems to be working on it fine for me.... or may be I am not a super gdb user that use it to the full potential. Basically just to see ...

Re: gcc 7.1 for the ST series

After I'm done with testing, I'll release also native binaries for 68000, 68020-60 and the FireBee, as before. Great. But help me understand. I use several libraries that I got from (the old) Sparemint. Do I need new libraries for them? Also does the current gdb works for the new gcc7.x binaries ?

I also thought about this, but I do not know where can I get information on what modifications, I need to do on the Falcon motherboard and CTPCI to use the IDE connector from the CTPCI, such information is not already on the Rodolphe website. you need to use the one mirrored by Mikro at https://mik...

Re: Falcon Tower case anyone?

I stopped using the metal shielding for so long I do not remember when. 1st happened to my STFM when i had TOS and memory mods on it (piggy back ROMS to 2 level high). So when my low profile memory module for the falcon 14MB board was replaced by normal memory module, I had that metal shielding off ...

Re: Falcon IDE Ribbon Cable 40/80?

So sorry , do you mean the IDE on the CTPCI ?
I used a 40 wire cable for that. It does not matter really as it does not do UDMA mode anyway.

Re: Falcon IDE Ribbon Cable 40/80?

If you are connecting the internal IDE on the Falcon mobo, there is no difference between the 40-wire or 80-wire cable, just make sure your adapter is aligned correctly. If I am not mistaken, the rows may be swapped.
I would just be safe and use a normal 44-wire cable instead.

Re: After nearly 20 years, will anyone crack Cubase Audio 2.06?

I have been off my Atari for about 5 years now... Not through choice, but because I have been involved in a massive accident that has left me almost completely paralysed, and yet, after being told I will never walk again, 3 months ago was the last time I used my wheelchair... So life can take a wei...

Yes, for more than 5 years! It's at every C partition of delivered FireBees and called "readme.txt" inside the folder "flasher".

Like the one for CT63 on the wiki here?
It tells you when to power on/off, have it on 030 or 060 mode, where & what to click etc.

for this task, i would keep mint at pole's length.

That is one nice nvdi 5 api.... just about the only thing i like about it.
it does automatic colour depth conversion as well but then I do not like being tied down by it.

Re: Atari Themed Clock face - chimes, alarms and mouse fix

i will need to look at the code to see it. i also quickly looked up nvdi 5 vr_transfer_bits() call. it has a transparent mode which it explain as if ( src != bg_col ) dst = src; but doing this will tie down the program to nvdi 5 only. And as I found... nvdi 5 breaks some stuff... well mostly printin...

The white border may be due to the window, i am not sure.
the PNG is drawn on top of a window.
