Re: CTPCI and Adaptec SCSI PCI card

Ok, good luck.
Let's us know the results but my guess is that chances are slim.
May be the older drivers will work.

Re: CTPCI and Adaptec SCSI PCI card

Have not heard of this card on a CTPCI before nor any drivers for it. But then I have been in and out of Atari over the years, so may have missed any posting of it. May be there is a development beta version (like almost everything else of CT60) I do have an Adaptec SCSI card somewhere in my man cave.

Re: CTPCI-IDE-Problem

Check your IRQ wire again.
IIRC, my falcon also hang when I did not have that wire on.
I did not know I have to solder that wire until Czuba told me so.

Most of the games conversion are done hastily to catch the wave of the game being good at on other platforms.

wow, nobody mentioned yet "Shadow of the Beast" on ST. One of the best game on Amiga, one of the worst on Atari ST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNGXuQKSjhI Ah yes.... that's the one that I mentioned I forgot the name. For me it's so bad that I did not bother remembering the name. So i...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

let it be clear that making a game better via some magical re-coding just makes it better than before it got that magic. It still does not mean that it gets pulled out of the shitty games bucket. To me... mindless bashing... is still mindless bashing even if the get more colours or smoother graphics...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

No, some people missed it completely by reading what they want to read.
I did not write ALL games.... I wrote a game.
I don't think anyone can improve ALL bad ST games even if that person has several lifetime.

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

My guess is someone like Pp can improve a game by giving it stereo music and better sound, smoother game play etc making the game better overall.

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

And fun is the idea, like you said, there are enough threads for best or underappreciated games. There are probably "worst games" threads too. Some bad games (IMO): - Thai Boxing - Lands of Havoc (yet by Steve Bak) - Super Tennis - Missions en Rafale -Roadwars True to say it really depend...

Re: There are tons of BEST of threads, how about the WORST ST games?

Truly depends on one's taste. For me one of the worst game was the one with all the HYPE about having SEVERAL ( 6 or 8 ) PARALLEL moving background of a beast walking forward and bashing up some stuff along the way. I cannot really remember the name actually. I am sure many of you would because of t...

Re: Mega ST keyboard and 1040 ST

I see. Interesting project :) So what you you need to do is to create a keyboard matrix and connect this to a microcontroller that acts as an IKBD keyboard. I have already done this using a Teensy microcontroller, PM me if you're interested in the source code. Joska, Does your code run on a Teensy-...

I don't have a real floppy drive now... but IIRC, I format on the PC my 1,44 MB floppy and it works fine on my Falcon.
Damn.... there was something on the Wiki that talks about this but wiki is down now.

Re: Atari Falcon advice

My take on MagiC is that you get a fast responsive system that comes with a nice desktop .
The bonus is that it understands LFN.
Extra bonus is that it comes with multitasking.

Sparrows are prototypes of falcons.... so will most likely looks different from Falcon. For me, I would like just to see the different motherboard layout. When I looked at rev 2, it looks pretty similar to Falcon. Would be nice if someone can capture the photo from ebay and post it on the wiki (yeah...

If you have a stock falcon, I would say MagiC would be a better choice.
But with 14Mb, you can give Mint ago.

Just collectors, not real users.
I doubt that any "normal" user would even make it run.
