Re: TOS CHIPS what is hi or low ?

I am not a hardware guy but may be this upgrade TOS text may help as well. http://atari4ever.free.fr/hardware/zip/tos104up.zip I'll use PPera's Romsplit and get 6 Eproms burned to do the job. Ppera tools are good. I am not sure if AtariZoll comes around here any more, you can ask him for help. It's ...

Re: form_do and dialog box

Not sure what you're doing by the few lines of code you shown.
Don't think it hanged.
You just need to click on the OK button (if you have one), but in your case the dialogbox probably not drawn.
So if you have a default OK with properties of Exit, pressing RETURN will probably continue the program.

IIRC, it was implemented but you need to flash it as it was a later development after the batch was shipped out.

Re: Bidirectional IDE to SATA interface

Should be able to if it is a bi-directional IDE-SATA interface. Experiment did few years back using a uni-direction IDE-SATA interface with a SATA HDD, the HDD identity was seen directly by the freeware driver. https://sites.google.com/site/probehouse/atari-hardware-mods/sata-hdd-on-falcon So I susp...

Re: Upgrading a 520STFM from 512kb to 1mb question.

I have an Atari 520 STFM and wanted to upgrade it to 1mb. The motherboard is a C103175 Rev 1, looking around the internet I found references to the 1040 STF but nothing about 520 STFM version. Weird... my site have a 520STFM upgrade to 1MB. https://sites.google.com/site/probehouse/atari-hardware-mo...

Re: CTPCI and USB thumb drive

To test the speed, I copied a 4,932 KB file from my TOS partition to the USB thumb drive.
(the thumb drive you see on the bootup photo above)
It took 23 secs.... so around 214 KB/sec.

Re: CT60CONF.CPX user clock divider

I don't use this.
According to the work log, it does not improve or worsen the situation, so it looks like does nothing to the hanging state.
You mention that your upload stops.... I think I read somewhere that the workaround implemented does not help 100% especially on large transfers.

Yeah, read about your new project on mintlist. Great move. :) I have an autoupdate script, at my web site, using Sparemint RPM as a base for version checking. I need to update the script to check github now before it works again. I guess you should use the most stable mint release that works best fo...

Re: SpeedoGDOS Laserjet Driver

From what source code of gdos printer drivers available from the Internet that I have seen, it does seems so. Mostly are sending ESC codes to the printer and these looks similar to PCL. They may well be PCL.... IDK because I do not read PCL. However, NVDI supports more printers and so should support...

Re: Temperatures / CT60 Instability

This is actually quite easy to overcome -- right now the flash tool stores the version in the flash memory and that's it. Only thing needed is to save also a CRC of the flashed content, i.e. if the CRC doesn't match, don't show the version. it is possible to check the CRC of what was actually flash...

Re: Temperatures / CT60 Instability

About CPLD update, the version will appear on boot ONLY IF you programmed the CPLD from an ATARI // port with Didier's flashtool. If you program from a PC with Xilinx soft, you will never have the CPLD version on the boot because, sure, the PC is not able to put the value in the TOS flash ! But, th...

Re: Temperatures / CT60 Instability

Isn't it one or the other but not both for Falcon IDE and CTPCI IDE connected? Just testing my memory, thought I'd read that somewhere, as well as Didier's software taking care of USB mass storage info posted this week. it is selected from the CT63 CPX. Using the CTPCI ide is slightly messy.... I n...
