Re: Falcon Pal mobo and clock Patch owners

For my 2 Falcons
1. NTSC model - no clock patch. This Falcon I had since 1995 and I got it from Dallas. Everything seems to work fine :D
2. PAL model - yes there is a clock patch - already put in by previous owner. No sure what clockpatch is that but everything seems to work fine too.

If your clock patch was there and it worked previously, I don't think it is the clock patch.

init (8) will be slower than using the config file as it runs bash (or whichever shell /bin/sh is) which then interprets a shell script to run the programs. It then, after this complete successfully, starts up the getty(8) programs on the console (and any other ports you wish to have logins on), or...

Re: CTPCI and Realtek 8139D

So you should find the driver in freemint 020+ snapshots from 1-19-848 onward. Feel free to give it a try, thanks to gcc 7.4.0 I found a couple of minor bugs, too. Thanks Mikro. Will try over weekend if I have the time. One OT question about mint-848.prg... must I have it by this name or can I rena...

Re: Atari ST question

So then HALO should be able to run on Atari ST as it can run on 2600.
That's probably closes to any modern PC gams.

Note: never played HALO on either PC nor 2600.

Re: LIbrary path for linker

Thanks Thorsten for reminding the compiler architecture & library mix-up. Yes, i read about it being discussed on the mintlist. I found that it was really very obvious that the standard lib location/folder should be the same architecture as for the compiler. That's... if i am using a coldfile an...

Re: LIbrary path for linker

Not sure if this is a correct way (probably not as I am a noobe at anything deeply system related). I have manually copied libs into the gcc respective default architecture folder (e.g /usr/lib/m5475 etc) depending on the lib architecture. Of course I done this on native gcc and not the cross-compil...

Re: RPMint Distribution

We need some kind of central repository for all software like Linux. This kind of system would ignite atari development again I am sure. A unified listing where you can see all the software in categories. Yes I really like the Sparemint webpage where I can easily search, download Mint apps & ev...

Re: RPMint Distribution

Interesting project since I use a old easymint for network on a ownmade driver. The init part is a bit slow on a standard falcon actually, have even been thinking about ways to get around that. And a way to get into GEM without passing through a login process would be nice, yes I run gem for old stuf...

Re: Falcon Problems

Keyboard stuck :) Pretty much a known issue. AIRC, the ESC key will stop it. I've seen a hardware mod that's suppose to fix it too. I'd say search the hardware section. Also seen the CTPCI has to be clocked down. I too have this issue but instead of a hardware mod, I just pop this keyoff.prg progra...

Is building the target package on actual platform itself much better than just using the -m68000 or -mcpu=5475 ?

OT: is that -m68020-60 still available ... I read from Mintlist that there are some changes.. :?:

This is another PC drive with the adapted Atari front (trimmed inside, because without cutting it does not fit). My STFM floppy drive was shorter than the PC floppy drive, may be not so for those ST sold in your country. May be many different size floppy drive on the ST found in different countries...

Re: CF vs SATA SSD on TT Thunder

The results looks as expected. The max speed is probably limited by the speed of Thunder ( what PIO number is it? ). Most of these device have onboard cache buffering so that the write-level stuff have time to work. The SSD probably have more cache than the CF. So CF need to wait to flush cache to m...

Have you run NVDI when using flash060 in 030 mode?
Not sure if that 10K resistor is needed or not.
