Answered: How To Flash / Firmware Upgrade?

Hi folks, I'm quite new to the Firebee, and while I find ACP downloads for Firetos with the recommendation to update to the newest version, I find no instructions anywhere on how a firmware upgrade is actually done. Can anyone give me some hints or point me in the right direction? Thanks! EDIT: OK, ...

Re: Q: Viability of using IntelliJ with emulator

Oh, wow, great, thanks! I actually haven't ever used Aranym myself, but I've read quite a bit about it, and now that you mention it it makes sense that it would be better suited for building purposes. I'll gladly check out your script!

Re: Q: Viability of using IntelliJ with emulator

So vasm is a cross-assembler, right? One advantage of that would of course be the superior build speed. So I'll probably give that a try. Running builds in the emulator brings all sorts of complexity with it... Back in the day, I did only some very simple assembler development, and mostly GFA basic ...

Q: Viability of using IntelliJ with emulator

Hi guys, I'm a Java dev and am currently contemplating writing a plugin for IntelliJ which would allow to write ST code in the IDE, and then compile and run in in an emulator that is shrink-wrapped into the plugin (for Windows, that would be Steem). This approach (building in the emulator) has vario...

Re: retro-io Floppy Extractor Online

I added the executable Jar download-link to the tool's page. When you have Java 8 runtime environment installed, just double-click the Jar file to run the tool and see the (butt-ugly) Swing GUI.

What can't you download? Do you have an image that doesn't work? Can you send it to me or attach it here?

Re: retro-io Floppy Extractor Online

Any plans on adding more disk image types? Well, yes, I would like to implement support for Atari XL images, and maybe others, but I need to get more information about them. I'm not sure, for example, if Krypto-Flux-images (IPF?) could be meaningfully processed. Generally, my tool is based on a Jav...

retro-io Floppy Extractor Online

Hi folks, I have now an early release of my floppy image extractor web application online. It looks still pretty rudimentary, but the functionality is there (upload image, download as zip, or download single files from the image). http://retro-io.com It now also contains a download-link for a primit...

retro-io Floppy Image Extractor Tool

Hi folks, As mentioned in another post, I am working on a Java library that allows to read and extract multiple floppy image file formats. Ultimately, I want to make it available in a web application online, but for the time being, there is just a small extraction tool that comes in the form of an e...

Re: retro-io Java library for .ST and .MSA

Please do, I do not have the tools to build it. This runs in a browser ?? It will... but not yet. I am working on a small single-page web application that will provide an upload button, then show the contents of the image, and allow to extract either single files from it, or download the contents i...

Re: retro-io Java library for .ST and .MSA

I think I will post the executable Jar file with the (very ugly and minimalistic) GUI extractor tool here this evening, so that anyone who doesn't want to build the project, but would already want to use / test it, can do so.

retro-io Java library for .ST and .MSA

Hi guys, For anyone interested in reading old floppy images and accessing their contents, I have started a new Github project; a Java library which allows to do exactly that: Read various old floppy image formats and extract their contents: https://github.com/marcelschoen/retro-io Currently, there i...

Re: SPEKTRUM V1.0 Graphics Card Driver Disks found!

OK, I added a ZIP attachement to my first post, with a partial copy of my C drive of my old TT. Partial because on the one hand it was too large with everything (attachement size too big), and also some things are not relevant. I'm not even sure what is. I think it had a lot to do with the NVDI conf...

I hope I didn't just promise something I can't keep; but I'm fairly certain I still have a backup of that config lying around. I'll have a look at it this evening whem I'm back home.

Re: SPEKTRUM V1.0 Graphics Card Driver Disks found!

I remember the configuration not being easy, for me. If you want, I can also post an archive with a configuration that worked in my TT with some old VGA monitor (which unfortunately won't necessarily mean it will work with yours, but maybe it can give some pointers).

SPEKTRUM V1.0 Graphics Card Driver Disks found!

Hello, I happened to find some old SPEKTRUM graphics card driver floppy disks from Wilhelm Mikroelektronik. Note: At first glance, it looks as if all 4 disks were exactly the same. At least they were all labeled exactly the same ("Color graphics card driver software, setup, control panel")...

Found: Devpac + Devpac DSP with manuals

Hi folks, After re-animating some old Atari computers, I've also started going through my software library. I realized that I have both the regular Devpac 3 assembler as well as the Devpac DSP (for Falcon, obviously), with their english manuals. I could scan those manuals and make them available onl...

control-socket example / documentation?

Hi folks, Can anyone point me to some examples or documentation on how exactly to use the "control-socket" feature of Hatari? I gather that it can be used to send commands to a running Hatari instance, but so far I fail to find any more detailled information on how to use it (short of read...

Re: Steem Idea: Remote Control

Thanks for the input. Well, running a program with "hatari <program>" will most likely boot up the emulated Atari system first; which is what I want to avoid (you know, the memory check, AUTO-folder processing etc.). That is why I am looking for a way to send commands to an already running...

NEW: Spektrum TC card manual in english

Hello folks, I translated the german user manual for the "Spektrum TC" VME-bus card to english, as good as possible (english not being my native language, and the german source material also not always very clear and concise...). I've attached it to this post. But I'll also look for some o...

Steem Idea: Remote Control

Hi folks, I'm carrying an idea around with me for an Eclipse plugin which would allow to write Atari software on a PC. For several reasons, such a plugin would need to incorporate an emulator (obviously). But not only to execute the program, maybe also to help build it. Example: Let's say I'd build ...
