Re: Falcon's 16bit bus myth - 32bit vs 16bit war

According to Uwe Schneider a Magnum Falcon provides a Falcon with eight megs of Fast-RAM.
The Magnum comes without accelerator card.

Re: Crown of Creation - Falcon

Guys, why disable the copy protection? Installing is no problem from original disks. You can move the installed files around iirc. And the installed game is playable, if you have the manual and casing from the game, or copies of those items - just like it is with Spacola or Oxyd. A while back I trie...

Re: NVDI 5 install crashes on a TT

I don't see any reason a GEM based installer should have difficulties with CF cards if the system itself hasn't.
Maybe it's worth a try without TT-RAM or less ST-RAM?

Re: Trade: TT for an other Atari-machine

Another Overscan TT would be nice.
I do have another Nova, but I don't use it, as it's hangin out of the machine and my TT has no place of its own.
Keeping it to give it a try at some point in time when I have the space.

Re: unable to play mp3's

Hi. I heard of several other cases of DSP access failure with FalcAMP and other software: I myself have problems on a Mighty Sonic 32 which loves to freeze when I doubleclick an mp3 file or a m3u, but not always! I'm still investigating the exact circumstances, but there seem to be any! I have absol...

I used to have two of them consecutively.
Not the one from that auction though.
I think I had a C32 and a C110 back then.

Re: TT/MSTE Matrix video adapter

It's more than just a box: It's a box with an adapter to use a MegaBUS graphics card (designed for Mega ST) on VME (found in TT and Mega/STe). I had a Matrix MegaBUS card providing me with 1280x960 in 256 colours on a TT, fitted in a tower case which held cr-rom, syquest drive and a controller for a...

Re: multi tos and mp3´s

Hi there.
calimero wrote:Is there version of MP3 plugin for FalcAMP that will play MP3 in STEREO (e.g. on CT63 Falcons)??

FalcAMP is playing stereo mp3 files, if they're encoded as stereo and not as joint-stereo.
Joint-stereo encoded files are forced to mono output as FalcAMP can't cope with 'em.

Re: multi tos and mp3´s

A Falcon will flawlessly play mp3 files using FalcAMP. No joint-stereo with full sound though - it's played as mono. Don't know if MultiTOS eats too many resources, but I had no problems running FalcAMP on MagiC 6.2, having the mp3 files on a FAT32 partition and chatting with AtarIRC or AtarICQ at t...

Hi. I'm not too much into unixy MiNT things, so I shouldn't do such a guide. I myself wouldn't understand what I'd try tell others. *g* I really like a Cripple-MiNT install which lets you barely scratch the surface of unix stuff. Cripple-MiNT can be found on maankes Atari pages which also provide yo...

You seen any cdrom driver that works on Mint 1.16 in your collection ? metados & spin works on tos but not on Mint. extendos. Does it means that no freeware that's works? Spin is working fine for me with TOS, MiNT and MagiC. With the last two I have long filenames on many CDs, but there are som...

Re: mintnet frustrations

You might have a look at CrippleMiNT (by maanke) or at KrapMiNT (by evl?).
Those are small distributions that work well on a plain Falcon without ext2 partition.
Just add GlueSTiK to support more internet apps, and off you go. :)

Re: NVDI 5

You'll need Spin as xfs and not metados but metaxbs in your auto folder to work together with the xfs.
Just read the Spin documentation.
This works for MiNT and MagiC as well.

Re: EasyMINT install

There is text on how to setup EasyMiNT on an ST.
In my opinion EasyMiNT should install fine on your setup (even if it would not run afterwards due to too few ram), but in case an ST version might be necessary go for this text.

I dropped editobj.slb into my mint/1-16-cur folder, and never got any messages again. Just had to additionally tell Xa...

You may have gotten too deep into the folder path, so TOS is not able to kill the inmost folder anymore. If you are using 8.3 filenames you might kill those empty folders with a tool as Correct. Don't ask me where you might find it though. There are chances PaulB is right as well. MiNT also might do...

Try to set the second partition win-compatible, but not TOS/ Win combined.
I'm not too certain if you'd need MiNT or MagiC to be able to use it, but this should be the proper setting in HdDriver.

Foldrxxx.prg reserves ram space for as many folders as you specify (up to 999 or maybe more, though I don't think so - just don't know it) plus fourty which TOS itself reserves, which is hardcoded in ROM I believe. Reserving space for more than fourty folders just uses ram, and is concerning only op...

Keili - I can confirm it's a patched 2.06.
IDE support is usual for 2.06, but power saving and such are added.
Also there's a drive p: with some tools on it, such as ST-Trans and HDX/ Hinstall.
