WTB: c302096-001 (Ajax) or standard FDC chip for TT

Looking for a replacement chip for the FDC on this TT to see if the controller chip is indeed what's causing no floppy activity (internal or external). A 1.44MB controller chip would be nice, but really it doesn't matter. I've got stacks and stacks of 720K disks ;).

Re: TT030 Floppy Drive issues

They was using sockets early on as Atari shipped some batches with 720k floppy drives. They sold update kits with the AJAX chip, all you had to do was swap the chip since it was in a socket. Unless you open it up and look you won't know. I don't know if they soldered the chip in later production ru...

Might be. I'm guessing that this chip isn't socketed? My soldering skills are pretty sad and I'm a bit leery of unsoldering a chip and hosing up an otherwise working system. Does the onboard FDC control the external drive as well?

Re: TT030 Floppy Drive issues

It seems that it's both internal and external - installing a drive internally does nothing as well.

TT030 Floppy Drive issues

Managed to acquire a TT030 from another member here and the internal floppy drive was missing/had issues but we thought an external drive would work fine. When I hooked up an SF 314, the light stays on and the drive is not found (inserting a floppy disk, of course, does nothing). I'm about to attemp...

Re: Please help me identify this ST mouse!

I second Datel, but it might be packaged generically by other companies. I had one of those back in the day for my Amiga.

Re: WTB: TT030 ST-RAM and/or TT-RAM

Yep, I saw Best's but to be honest, that's a ridiculously expensive price for what it is. I'm considering 16/32s but I'm hoping that someone is feeling more generous (cheap?) before I go that route.

WTB: TT030 ST-RAM and/or TT-RAM

I finally acquired a TT030 w/2MB and was looking to grab a daughterboard to expand out the ST and/or TT-RAM a few megs. Anyone have one of these for sale?

It went for more than I'm willing (allowed?) to pay. Looks like I'll have to load up my Paypal account by selling excess stuff before I start looking seriously at a Falcon.

STing issues?

I'll admit, I'm fairly new when it comes to using TOS-based machines so I very well could be overlooking the obvious. I'm working on setting up STing to work on an STE/1.62/4MB over a nullmodem to a *nix box but that doesn't matter I don't think at this point. I've downloaded 1.26, put the *.CPX fil...

WTB: ST -> VGA Mono Cable.

Topic states it all - I'm working on hooking up my STe to a VGA monitor so I can use the high-resolution mode. I see that Best Electronics sells them for $39.99 which I'm having a bit of a hard time stomaching for something I can make myself (but am too lazy to do so). Anyone have another source of ...

Re: WTB: Mega ST4 to 1084 Cable/SC1224

Looking for a ready to go cable to let me hook an ST4 up to a 1084. Not real concerned with which particular model of 1084 as I have several different ones to choose from. I've tried Best and B&C, but neither one seemed interested in making one and neither had one in stock. Barring a cable, I'd...

Re: Formatting a drive...

Working on relative new drives with old software is what is problem here. Formatting hard disks is obsolete. You should go on partitioning immediately. If SW allows it not better try with some other program. In Atari World only Hddriver is up to date at moment. Yep, I went this route earlier. Inste...

Re: Formatting a drive...

No problem identifying the drive - it's properly terminated. ICD Tools can't get the drive size information (as it's over 1GB) so I'm using SCSITOOLs to format. It's been 'formatting' for almost 11 hours now but the question is, how long *should* it take? I'm guessing it's doing a lowlevel type form...

Formatting a drive...

I got my ICD FA*ST drive in today, slapped in a HD and fired up SCSITools since the ICD utils didn't like my 4GB drive size. The drive started formatting this morning... it's now 5 hours later. Since I don't have much of an indication that it's doing anything besides occasionally clicking and giving...

Though it's probably worth it, I think I'll pass. I was more or less looking for something in the sub-$100 range - I've noticed Megafiles going for roughly that price but I wasn't sure how swappable drives are in it. I've got a pile of SCSI drives and an enclosure or two so if I got an older setup I...

I guess my luck hasn't been very good on picking up the Link - been looking for a bit and haven't come up with anything!

I don't mind paying shipping to an extent. Of course if it gets too bad, it won't be worth it :) I'll send an email your way here in a bit. Thanks!

WTB: Atari STe HD or SCSI adapter

Topic says it all, I'm looking for a reasonably priced ST hard drive (SCSI please - I'm thinking MFM would be bad) or an ASCI->SCSI adapter like the link.

While I'm asking, I could also use some ST magazines if you have some handy.

Thanks!

Brian
