Re: Web browsing with CosmosEx?

On my oldest Pocket PC a Mitac Mio 168 with its XScale ARM CPU, it was really slow and terrible ten years ago let alone these days. However there was a website called Skweezer I could use on it, that converted whatever page you wished to view into a PDA friendly format and that made surfing the web ...

That takes more energy out of you though and nothing from them, because they are just a giant machine that consumes other people and their resources.

Re: USB HID interface

If you could also incorporate the option of an LCD display like the Eiffel, then it ticks all the boxes for me. I don't see the need for a LCD. You have a CRT/TFT attached to your ST, don't you? 8) It is a man's human right to have as many flashing lights, switches, knobs and displays as possible o...

Atari Music Network.....off-line or worse?

Just tried to visit www.atarimusic.net but received the message from my Virgin Media Broadband, "www.atarimusic.net is unavailable or may not exist". :contract:

The downloads in the link below are non-patched or hacked versions and require dongles etc to work.

True about DVD and even the predecessor VideoCD and Super VideoCD had audio at 44.1KHz.

Re: How the Falcon dual clock works?

Maybe it was due to the ADAT and DAT recording hardware around at the time, which was becoming commonplace in semi-pro and amateur setups and used the 48KHz frequency. Mind you I did not get my first DAT recorder until 1997!

Not quite sure what you mean because the links on the http://www.ataricq.org/ website work ok for me (I just tried them a minute ago).

Re: SMP24 configuration

I could not get my SMP24 to work with Cubase until I upgraded the firmware to v1.65 I think. The previous v1.49 firmware only worked with Steinberg Pro 24 III and not Cubase. The MROS driver version is also important as simbo points out.

Re: Crazy Ebay Prices

Actually some other things that I kept in a list on Ebay had their prices jump up and down hugely, usually by adding zeros on to the price which I got the impression was more a system fault than dishonest selling practice. Some of those things are still on my lists and have returned to their normal ...

Re: STFM teardown with upgrades and other videos

No I stand by my original comment about modern life; we would all be a lot happier and calmer if we all made an effort to slow down for each other. That will never happen of course. Anyway...nothing against the person in the videos, as he seems a decent chap. I find watching TV very stressful these ...

Very good videos but people who talk that fast and choppy with all the words in one constant stream, make my chest tight and my heart pump with stress. I wish the modern world was slower and quieter like it used to be not so long ago :(

Re: Quake 2 on Falcon030

It's all a bit of fun and no 16-bit wars re-invoked :) The Amiga 4000 is probably more powerful than the entire top end of the Atari range, but that does not mean I would want to use the Amiga for what I did back in the 90s / 00s, which was mainly music sequencing and production and the Atari was in...

Re: Best ST joypad?

Due to starting out in circa 1979/80 with the 8-bit home micro computers, I have always preferred to use the keyboard first and foremost, and then only a joystick as a last resort or if it suited the game better, e.g. extreme punishing waggling games where only a tough Kempston Competition Pro or Po...
