Re: SCSI2SD for TT help configuring!

IIRC there is a keyword in Magix config file that you edit for vfat, look for something like the #vfat section and add "drives=<drive alphabet>". That is for enabling the VFAT extension, not to select between FAT16 and FAT32. That is done when partitioning/formatting. You need to specify ...

Oops 8O Have you tested your Atari (with your SM124, *not* the TV!) after this incident? Oh, and don't try that SCART cable again. There is for sure something wrong with either the cable or the TV.

Nice :) With a TL866A you're now only one GAL away from adding writeable TOS and an IDE interface to your STE.

Re: TT Hi res in colour?

Talking pure mono, the needed hardware would be pretty simple. A small CPLD with a SRAM for the framebuffer, simple resistor output "DAC" for video output You don't really need much more than a CLPD or FPGA and some RAM to make a proper graphics card with much better performance. E.g. for...

Re: 1920x1080 stopped working

I have a similar experience with my Firebee, where 1920x1080 does not work on most (*all* except one actually) of my monitors. The problem in that case is wrong sync polarity. I doubt that is the case here, but I would not be surprised if there was a compatibility-issue with the SV's 1920x1080 and y...

Re: Tool to dump STe ROM?

Come on, that can be done better ;) Definitely :) you don't need to set up a stack, the OS already does that. You are right. I added it when trying to figure out why it didn't work on host fs under Hatari, and did not think of removing it when I discovered that the code worked when using an emulate...

Re: Hatari unusable with trackpad in fullscreen mode (Hatari v2.0.0 and SDL 2 on Linux)

Bringing this thread back... I will be away from my Ataris for a while and I'm setting up Hatari on my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. I'm running an Atari screen resolution of 1536x896 on a 1600x900 display. In both windowed and fullscreen mode the GEM mouse moves many times faster than the X mouse wh...

Re: Tool to dump STe ROM?

Sigh. Mikro was faster :) Can't be that difficult to write a simple utitlity like that. Here's my try I wrote one too, but it didn't work. Could not figure out why. So I tested both your and Mikro's tools and they both fail too, creating empty files. Then I noticed a message from Hatari - "GEM...

Re: GEMBENCH 6

It is still useful to compare different emulators on the same machine. And also for developers, to compare different versions of the same emulator. A benchmark would be useful for that, but a benchmark that does the same tests regardless of CPU speed will give very inaccurate results when CPU speed...

Re: GEMBENCH 6

It is clearly not capable of displaying six figure results. You might want to report this - and the bugs in the saved textfile - to the author. Btw I have to say that I find such tools useless on emulated "go as fast as possible" machines. These machines are so fast that the numbers are po...

Re: GEMBENCH 6

Gembench write some Errors as result in Stemulator Gold 1.64 under N.AES 2.0. The answer is here: GEMBench is GEM friendly, works fine in GEM. It doesn't work with multitasking environments which basically replace GEM with some other OS. GB6 only works with plain TOS. Go back to v 4.x or use anothe...

The configuration switch register on the MSTE has several free bits. What about patching TOS to use two of these to decide speed and cache mode?

Re: Joysticks Mega STE

Is CosmosEx in production again? If so that's good news, and it can indeed be a possible solution here. But I must say this - it must be a lot easier and cheaper to buy a normal joystick on eBay instead of buying a CosmosEx and Raspberry Pi in order to get a $150 X-Arcade to emulate a single button ...

Re: Joysticks Mega STE

The joystick in question is intended for emulators like MAME I believe, and seems to behave like a keybard. So in that sense it will work with an Eiffel on an STE. However, you need to be able to remap the joystick/button -> key mapping without involvind the Atari, as there is no standard keyboard c...

Re: Joysticks Mega STE

That will work if you can remap the emulated keys in the keyboard itself. Because there is no standard keyboard controls in ST games, and a lot (most?) of games doesn't even let you use the keyboard.

Re: Joysticks Mega STE

No and no. Anything that doesn't deliver the proper IKBD packets to the ST's keyboard ACIA will simply not work in 99% of all games. If you want to use your x-arcade then you have to create an interface for it that allows you to connect it either to the keyboard's mouse/joystick ports or the ST's ke...

Re: Joysticks Mega STE

The only joysticks you can use are the ones you connect to the keyboard/Eiffel. Forget about USB joysticks. Get a Zipstick or Competition Pro or any other real joystick with replacable microswitches and you have a joystick that can be serviced and used forever.

Rational Sounds hooks into the VDI/AES trap to detect the actions that triggers a sound. This may not work with the Radeon driver. Have you tried Crazy Sounds instead?

How big is the new HD? HDX has serious limitations. You might want to try HD-Driver instead.
