Re: New program: "Serial Disk"

Of course, the choice of programming language is entirely up to the developer. I just did not agree that C#/.net is *less* portable than plain C.

Re: https for atari-forum.com

Something like a QWK/SOUP gateway for phpBB would be great... Then we could use this forum with native applications on our Ataris.

Re: New program: "Serial Disk"

Regular C would certainly be more efficient, but much less portable. Good luck in porting .net applications to anything but the major, current operating systems. C on the other hand can be ported to virtually anything. What if I want to run the SerialDisk server on my Falcon to share files with my ...

The Lightning ST has a IDE Interface too compatible with the Falcon IDE Interface, MonSTer, c´t IDE and so on ... Yes, but you write... or alternative instead of the Lightning ST a c´t IDE Interface. Re: 'Clean-up' after a warm reset

The MonSTer card TOS selection switches are only read on RESET. If I don't reset before jumping to TOS, it will start executing the current TOS but switch to the new TOS after the TOS RESET command.

This should do it: ; Reset machine reset: clr.l -(sp) move.w #$20,-(sp) trap #1 add.l #6,sp clr.l $420.w move.w #$2700,sr reset move.l #$ffff,d0 _wait: dbra d0,_wait move.l 4.w,a0 jmp (a0) This is from my MonSTer tools, it's called when you switch TOS from software. Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

I posted the sources on the Firebee dev forum years ago. Can post them on my VanillaMiNT site as well, just give me some time. I'm renovating our kitchen now and have little or no time for play. Yes, porting them to gcc would be easy. The tools are small and simple and would probably only need minor...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

If you ever decide to let your great config tools make their way into freemint's tools folder, I'm sure nobody will object against that. ;) In that case the code will have to be compilable with gcc, which is something I don't want to spend time on. However, if somebody else wants to develop these t...

Re: All FreeMiNT builds again available and more!

Great work mikro :) It almost renders VanillaMiNT obsolete now, I can drop my old build-scripts and just fetch a build from bintray. I will probably change VanillaMiNT from a full distribution to an "add-on" to the official fully bootable build. [*] Separate builds for 68000, 68030, 68040,...

Would be better if it writes to the console instead. More from xaaes.cnf: # logfile <filename> (default xa_boot.log in the xaaes-startup-directory) # # set the name of the logfile # if empty ("") debug-output to file is disabled. # # examples: # #logfile = "" #logfile = C:\xaaes...

Re: How to suppress XaAES alert popup

I just remembered this feature: # alert_windows = <value> (default is 0xffff) # # THE IMPLEMENTATION IS NOT DEFINATE AND ONLY PARTIAL AS OF NOW!!! # # alert_window is a bitmask indicating which alerts coming via the # alert pipe will be shown in a window. The idea is that this mask # is used to tell...

Re: How to suppress XaAES alert popup

I have seen this many times with XaAES. Quite often when an application crashes the mouse becomes very slow and laggy. I have seen this on my Milan and Falcon060, MP always enabled. A reboot is required to restore the mouse.

I don't agree in that point. I also had a Milan for many years and I feel more software is running on the firebee. Mp3 player, games (Arkanoid) and such I was missing on the Milan. I have a Milan060, mxPlay works fine with it. As for Arkanoid, that game was specifically modified for the Firebee. Bu...

Remember that the picture inside pic_boot is stored as a 65k 320x240 XIMG-file; not a targa file. Uncompressed I assume? Edit: No, I see in the source that it's compressed. So depending on the picture it may or may not be possible to patch the binary. You can also simply patch the ct60tos.bin - sea...

Does anyone know what the long term goals are for this hardware? I've had my Firebee since 2011, but unfortunately it has seen virtually no use the last few years. There are several reasons for this, but to me the single biggest problem with the Firebee is it's CPU/MMU and the lack of support for i...

Re: Reading an Atari Compact Flash on Mac/Windows

So finally managed to get the CF out of the STBook (absolute mission!), but i can't get it to read on either the Mac or Windows as in both the operating system takes over before Hatari or an image programme and says the CF isn't readable and needs to be formatted or ejected? This is to be expected,...
