Re: STart Magazine coverdisks

Hmmm...Fcopy. That could be the failure in my attempt to copy from ST disk to PC disk. I didn't use it. I think that'll be my next try. These skills are perishable.

Re: STart Magazine coverdisks

Interesting exercise in frustration. Trying to bring that archive off side 2 of that disc has so far defeated me. Using the discs own program, has been a failure and the program itself suggests that my STart disc is corrupted, though they admit to problems with this 1st iteration of that program. Th...

Re: STart Magazine coverdisks

Surprised that I don't remember any of this information. My collection though is certainly not in the landfill. I remember when I renewed my subscription to STart at about the same time the magazine tanked. $80 some odd lost on that renewal. The holding company for the mag kept giving me the run-aro...

Re: Atari ST emulator Why?

One more thing about emu. It can be portable. I have STeem on my laptop. A lot of Atari goodness follows me where ever I go. One day I might even figure how to configure a joystick. Try and pack up your STe and bring it along for the ride. And though it's frowned on, I even manage some emu at work. ...

Re: Band In A box for the Atari st

My first BIB was version 4. Later purchased version 5 as well. Don't remember my packaging being as fancy as what you're showing. Just very recently purchased BIB 2014 for the PC. ST was advertised as power without the price. Part of that meant midi I/O/T. So my 1040ST was my first computer. A Rolan...

Re: Old computer magz?

I'm sure this link has been posted before, cause I'm pretty sure I got it from Atari-Forum. Hmmm ( :? ). Since no one from the states chimed in, I thought I'd just throw this one out there again. Happily it still exists, though I doubt it's been updated in years. Had it my bookmarks for years. http:...

ROM from all menu disks terminates

Was just playing a little with STEem. Had some free time and decided to play Rings of Medusa for awhile. Since all of my ST stuff is in storage at the moment, I downloaded the game from planet emu. In the 3rd year the game just suddenly terminates. HaHaHa gotcha! Your army wants to be paid. Thought ...

Re: Atari/Retro Season Is Almost Here

And for those interested, finally after a long dry spell, (with the exception of the Falcon in Greece), someone finally cut loose one of their collectibles. 140355411760 ebay US if it still displays. $305 excl. shipping ain't bad. This one did bring one question to mind. Can you pull a disk drive fr...

Re: Vectronix menu images

From memory, (which is always questionable) I seem to remember buying a Vectronics compilation disk from LGD. And from memory also, it seemed there were 900+ images on that disk. Can't verify that right now, all my disks at this moment are in storage.

Re: Atari/Retro Season Is Almost Here

Yeah, I saw that one wongck, but it's in Greece and I'm USA. I'll probably never try to purchase internationally hardware. (Very steep shipping + high risk of damage). Except in the right circumstance I might risk Canada. I have bought a couple of ST's shipped from Canada which were OK.

Re: Atari/Retro Season Is Almost Here

As I continually watch ebay trying for that elusive falcon, I do notice quite a bit more activity with the Atari merchandise recently. The number of pages has doubled. Mostly software. surprisingly high priced, but there's an occasional gem. Always been some 8-bit activity and I've seen some people ...

Dungeon Master Oddity?

Was just reading an old game review from the "Classic Computer Magazine Archive", (atarimagazines.com/), and read the following: By the time you read this, FTL will probably have released a mini-adventure that you can load in using the Dungeon Master disk. This is planned to have up to thr...

Re: Does it worth to buy? (Atari Software Catalogue)

I see this catalog on US ebay all the time. I think a seller there has several copies ?? Bought one myself last year. My impression was that this catalog was probably an annually issued book. If thats true, then you should also watch for which edition you purchase. Can't tell you which edition mine ...

For gryhrstr: Is it not because the DVD files are not compressed? The first four dvd's are all compressed. #1-applications, chaos engine Falcon cd1, chaos engine games cd1, coverdisks, demos, diskmags, docs, educational, online mags, TOS. #2-applications, demos, educational, public domain. #3-game ...

Re: 30000 disk images in 12Gigs ..

Several months ago, I bought The Ultimate ST/E Collection 6 dvd collection from ebay UK. From Mug's first post here, what I have seems very similar to what he describes. Hmm, 6 dvd=more than 24 gig. Is 12 gigs of disk images maybe something different from 6 dvd's of programs, games, menu disks, etc....

Dead link above muguk, but what does anybody expect after three years. Opened link in new tab, backed off the url to .com/, reloaded, and then searched Jochen Hippel again. Listening to a pretty good remix of Rings of Medusa as I type. Going to bookmark this site.
