Re: EmuTOS 0.9.11

I wonder how EmuTOS does handle the system clock on a Falcon with faulty Dallas chip? Original TOS trash the time and date when returning from an application. What dos EmuTOS do? FreeMint keeps date and time properly in this case. You should give a try, if you can  Or ask Hatari developers to...

For this to happen, the first step would be to publish documentation about the FireBee extended video modes. If I'm not mistaken, such thing has been missing for 10 years.

Re: Firebee: the long game?

How about 68k emulator you ported it for coldfire? You are referring to 68Kemu . This is mainly an experimental hack. I guess some 68k software would work using it under EmzTOS? Yes, it can indeed run a few simple 68000 programs on EmuTOS for ColdFire. But it lacks support for GEM callbacks, which ...

Re: Firebee: the long game?

That means even st-low is working and displayed correctly with emutos? EmuTOS for the FireBee can switch to ST-Low, yes. It uses the same resolution dialog as EmuTOS on Falcon. But the picture is shifted due to bugs in the VIDEL implementation inside the FPGA. Fredi improved things a while ago, but...

Re: "small footprint" C++ programs for STs?

Recently, I discovered C++ as my new playground and saw that it is entirely possible (if not common already) to code µC programs in C++. Definitely! And this was even my main goal when I started working on the cross-tools. I got very encouraging success by using no "new", no exceptions, n...

I am ready to release the sources of my 68000 cycle accurate core. Very good :) But I'm not so sure about the hypothetical case that a corporation would use it as an essential part of a commercial product. Regarding to GPL: indeed, there is no way to differentiate "good guys" and by the &...

Re: Convert any joypad to Atari

Yes, this technique can work on any joypad/joystick :) You just have to find the best points to solder the wires. And maybe remove some integrated chips, if that can make soldering easier. But nowadays, it is probably best to first have a look on web shops to see if there is a cheap, ready-to-use ad...

Convert any joypad to Atari

Here is how I converted a Super Nintendo joypad to Atari, 26 years ago. Spoiler: by soldering wires. This brutal technique can be easily applied to any joypad/joystick.

Re: m68k-atari-mint-gcc and generation of PC relative code

-fPIC and -fpic options require a Global Offset Table (GOT), and I considered it was not possible with our limited a.out file format. This why you see "Not supported" errors. When available, -fpic is limited to 16-bit offsets, while -fPIC allows full 32-bit offsets -mpcrel: As I understand...
