Re: USB printer driver project

Sorry, my mistake :(, It is working but with Netusbee, I dont test it with CTPCI, I can make after the Christmas Test it but it's not going no to work, you need a EHCI driver for MiNT's USB stack or its TOS version. There is one which it has been test it on the Milan but we have only the MiNT modul...

Re: CTPCI and Realtek 8139D

Thanks Latz, I’m going to try some shorter IDE cables and some different network cards, but it sure seems like the driver should report something, even if there is no card in the slot. I don’t have a clue. I think I have tried everything. Check in MiNT's boot menu that the option "Write bootlo...

Re: CTPCI and Realtek 8139D

Okay, this answer makes me think that maybe drivers.hex should not be flashed (present) for Mint??? Does Mint handle everything for USB and Ethernet and I have a conflict because the TOS drivers are active? Is there a way to turn them off without re-flashing with only TOS and no drivers.hex? I can ...

Re: USB printer driver project

Is there a chance this could be working also on the FireBee? No with the current FireTOS. To use this printer driver you need MiNT's USB stack or its TOS version, latest FireTOS version has a bug in its PCI-BIOS implementation that avoids to install new interrupt handlers for PCI devices so it's no...

Re: NetUSBee USB drivers download

ICD was a bust, TBH. I bought HDDriver, and all the NetUSBee programs worked without an issue. Though UIP still appears to load and then just quit (no bombs). With HDDriver, I don't need to worry about that as I now have an SD card with a DOS partition for transferring files. I'm in the opposite sc...

Really? I did not know that. All I have ever seen was 6 layer PCB versions. That would perhaps explain some of the weird routing artefacts that make no sence at all.

I think he was asking, see the question mark.

Also for a DOS compatible card for moving data between a PC and the ST.

Another alternative is to use BigDos to access devices with regular FAT16 partitions.

Re: FreeMinT bug: Mount drive

- Can "the system" detect if any media is changeable or not (so FreeMinT or TeraDesk could use this "value" for a better behaviour)? The XHDI protocol has the function XHInqTarget http://toshyp.atari.org/en/010008.html#XHInqTarget2 that allows you to check if a device is removab...

Re: FreeMinT bug: Mount drive

I have traced it to this line of code
https://github.com/freemint/freemint/bl ... sys.c#L903

dir.fs is NULL and a media change is forced, I'm trying to understand now why this happens only with some ext2 partitions.

I can replicate this, I have 4 ext2 partitions (f:, g:, h: and i:), three of them (f:, g: and i:) behaves as explained above, every directory refresh increases the mount count. For partition h: it doesn't occur. h: is where my UNIX stuff is, Latz said that his main ext2 partition didn't have these e...

Re: Does MINT NTPdate sets only UTC time?

No, it seems to be a bug that happened in 1.17 Basically, if i do ntpdate, and then again ntpdate, I bounce back 1 hour. By reading the ntpdate docs, I discovered that ntpdate doen't sync correctly when you have a big offset, and you have to use the -B option. Hence, At startup I have ntpdate and t...

Re: MiNT 1.17 works with problems

HA! Almost sorted the time thing!!! I blame it on ntpdate version 4.0.2 + MiNT1.17 explanation: i use the ntpdate program on startup during the init, and it always set the time right. I also notice a couple of timeouts and then the sync in the 'scrolling log' When using 1.17, the timeouts aren't th...

Re: alienkidmj12s FireBee

It's does but with the latest FireTOS the problem is so bad that the effect starts again and again. To work around this you must have a speaker, so you can hear it when/if this happens during boot. Strike a key immediately , and the key repeat stops. If you wait just a tiny bit too long you'll get ...
