Nice necrobump there, AtariZoll! For a moment I thought that STOT was back! The excitement and disappointment I just felt in those two seconds.

Re: Experimental Atari STE image enhancement website online

Thanks for this great tool, Anima. I'd been using a Windows program called XnView to convert PC images to ST Degas Elite compatible formats (IFF), but that often resulted in weird palette stuff, meaning I'd have to go back to Degas and retouch it with the colour change tool. This looks to be a lot c...

Re: Racing games gameplay

Great observation, Mr Seagull!

When you try to play a racing game without this type of 'steering assist' you realise just how important it is! Try playing Crazy Cars on the ST... The car's handling feels awful, no fun whatsoever to control.

Re: OutRun, positively surprised

Outrun was in one of the STfm game packs, wasn't it?... Time may have tarnished your memory of things but didn't it take ABSOLUTELY AGES to load (something around 5 minutes)? IIRC in the same pack was Super Hang On, which was a far better conversion (and loaded a damn site faster). It was in my unc...

Re: 2 players games

A lot of my favourites have been added already, but I'd like to add Pang, Silkworm, Dogs of War, Chaos Engine, Rampage, Double Dragon, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge and Trapped 2. There really are lots of great 2 player games on the ST. It was a great era for couch multiplayer!

No, as far as I know it isn't real. Just a cool looking concept. Can you imagine how cool an ST compatible, modern and TOS/GEM machine would be? 8)

Does anyone recognise this (appalling) demo?

Ashens is looking for this really bad demo, god knows why: https://twitter.com/ashens/status/438059132646879233

Any ideas where we could look?

Kind of makes your signature ironic. :(

All the best simbo, it's a big loss to see your technical know-how leave the scene, but if you're not having fun then that's that. I'll miss trying to decipher your stream of consciousness punctuation-less posts!

Re: Big issue with atari-forum.com

Once again a huge thank you to Martyg, Dal, Brume, Mug and all the others who give their spare time to keep this forum going. It is the backbone of the 16/32 Atari community and it would have been a terrible loss to see it damaged in this way. And thanks to Atari too! I can see why they might voraci...

Re: Atari Gamer Magazine

Looking very nice indeed, Foxy! I have little interest in the 8-bits (not through any particular dislike, I just have had next to no experience of them) so I won't be buying, but if it's a success and you do an ST version, I will be on it like a car bonnet. Especially if you need someone to write so...

Well, everyone knows that the ST is the 16 bit computer to go for if you are not a complete douche-bag! ;) I like your site a lot, it is informative, but has a nice personal feel to it too, like you invited me in to have a look around your collection. Thanks for sharing, buddy! This made me giggle: ...

Re: Erik You Tube video Long play

It is hard to get good sound quality when recording from emulator - and you did it from Saint, obviously. Much better would be capturing from real Atari (with TV card) . Is there a TV card you could personally recommend? Doing a search for 'analogue video capture card' is bewildering, to say the le...

Re: Wolfchild for the ST, a disaster

I had the demo of this game that was on the cover disk of ST Action and thought it was a great game. Years later, I saw the amiga version and Megadrive version and my jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe how fast, fluid and smooth it was. The moral of the story? If you enjoy ST games, never look at...
