Re: Arcade cores

New Core: Super Bagman Arcade can found here: https://github.com/cavemanxzx/MiSTer-Arcade-SuperBagman It is my understanding that the original goal of introducing mra files was to avoid the step of building roms which was a problem for some users. Although this new core uses a zip file this zip fil...

Re: Arcade cores

I do have everything under /_Arcade, in the beginning I had .mra under Arcade when I watched that Youtube video. I downloaded MiSTer_20200113, and renamed it to Mister and copied it to the root of my MicroSD. My menu.rbf is dated 1/15/2020 Edit: I did and update from outside of the scripts dir and ...

Re: Arcade cores

I did exactly like above strcutures and now I'm getting black screen instead of kicking me back to the main menu. Some games when loading say I'm missing some file but those same cores ran perfectly when I had it in the old file structure. I ran the build_mamerom script as well to verify that my RO...

Re: Arcade cores

I am kind of a loss on this new .mra structure. I looked at the Youtube video and have my structures set as /Arcade/*.mra /_Arcade/cores/*.rbf /_Arcade/mame/*.zip /_Arcade/hbmame/*.zip I downloaded the .mra files and put it in /arcade but when I tried to run any cores it kicks me back to the main m...

Re: Arcade cores

Something strange with the MCR3Mono: Yesterday I downloaded the beta version and everything was fine. Today I updated the menu core, the MCR3Mono core and associated mra files and it does not work so well, only a black screen. Update: My zips were gone, not sure what happened. Although no zip were p...

Re: A larger enclosure?

........ I'm beginning to think that might require a custom USB hub PCB mounted at the front of the enclosure to line up properly. Don't think I could just use the existing board - one of the longer sides only has 3 ports and I feel like I'd want at least 4. You could use a USB extension with one s...

Re: Arcade cores

The new mra system does not work when 2 versions of a core are in the _Arcade/cores directory: I was testing the new setname option of the mra system. I downloaded the new pacman rbf and mra files, deleted the old one. I did the same with Galaxian but forgot to delete the old rbf. Testing the new pa...

Re: Newbie attemp at building an arcade rom.

As above im trying to build my first Rom (Defender - the main reason ive got the mister setup) - i think ive done everything right. Ive ended up with the file "a.dfndr.rom" which is only 28k in size (seems a bit small) - ive chucked that onto the root of the memory card and when i navigat...

Re: Arcade cores

A while back someone posted a spreadsheet listing all cores (I think it was NML32). Here is the link. There's no link in your post. Thanks. My bad, I was in hurry to go to lunch, copied the link and forgot to paste it. I see that you got it. It is a very useful spreadsheet with a lot of infor...

Re: Arcade cores

Hi all, Can anyone tell me where I can go to get arcade cores that are not part of the main updater script? I know some are locked for patrons only for a while, but by my count there should be at least half a dozen arcade cores I could get right now that just aren't part of the main update script. ...

Re: Zero Delay USB Encoder

Thanks for all the answers and recommendations. As I do not have any component I will get a set with the encoder and will see later (the Arduino project is already bookmarked). Regarding ebay I had to stop ordering cheap stuff: I live in Curacao and everything from China is shipped via Venezuela whe...

Re: Newbie questions

From the Neo-Geo readme: You have a bunch of files but neo-epo.sp1 is missing. My guess is that you have to rename sp-e.sp1 to neo-epo.sp1. I know I've got to much files, but my setup is working correctly. It's Bouboule69 who got issue with his setup, he is missing some bios rom and his romsets.xml...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

I made some progress but now I am really confused. This morning I was short in time and saw the 2 folders Arduboy and _Arduboy but did not have time to look into them. At lunch time I had enough time to do it and one contains the HEX files, the other the rbf. I am not sure if the rbf is the one I ha...

Re: Newbie questions

From the Neo-Geo readme: In addition, several bios files must be placed in the NEOGEO folder for the core to function properly: 000-lo.lo sfix.sfix sp-s2.sp1 (MVS) neo-epo.sp1 (AES) uni-bios.rom Sometimes these files may be named slightly differently depending on where they are obtained, but they mu...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

Sorry for my misleading assumption, now I think it is totally unrelated to the SDRAM. You shouldn't rush to make a new core: The previous version was working as it should. The version which crashes on me does not seem to crash for other testers. There does not look like many users are testing this c...

Re: Zero Delay USB Encoder

Thanks for the answer. It's still plenty usable and cheap to source, just don't plan to beat Mike Tyson in Punch Out! with it. I am not worried about that as I am not a real gamer. You give me the most responsive screen and gamepad and with the easiest game I am dead in 10s. I am an old fart: ...

Zero Delay USB Encoder

Instead of putting my MISTer in its own enclosure I an thinking of building a desktop arcade enclosure where I can install the MISTer. On ebay and amazon there are quite a few Zero delay encoders. It looks like they act as real controller encoders, not keyboard encoders. Does any one have any experi...

Re: Newbie questions

Does your OTG cable provide power? It could be an OTG cable wired for connecting to a device which has its own power and thus would not provide power. I doubt this is the case but it should be easy to check.

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

No luck with the new version (previous one worked perfectly). On startup the core crashes MISTer and I have to power cycle the board, I don't even get the flashing colors any longer. I even renamed boot.vhd to demo.hex to be sure that the core was not trying to load anything. I do not think the prob...

no

Thanks a lot, now I don't have to worry about arcades using zip files as required with the new mra system.
