Re: PC Engine core

It's actually great to see the TG16/PCE MiSTer core put under tests like this! It could give us a hint that people might be truly expecting good things from it. Hope to see this already great core getting improvements soon!

Re: MegaCD (SegaCD) Core

This is awesome stuff! Thanks to srg320 and Sorgelig for this early Christmas present! :) One question: are there plans (if technically possible) to add cartridge roms loading capabilities to the MegaCD core? I believe that merging both cores capabilities will make bug fixing easier in the long run?...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Those 2.4g dongles from 8bitdo are *VERY* power hungry!

8bitdo M30 2.4g version via USB cable is the big winner so far!

Re: Humble Book Bundle with Verilog/VHDL Book

Thanks for the tip! 8)

Only the books at the $1 tier interest me, so this was actually a great finding!

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Sorgelig, just one minor thing about "A,B,X,Y,Start,Select,LT,RT", I would name them "A,B,X,Y,Start,Select, LB,RB ". LT and RT are usually known as analog triggers and should map to something like L2 and R2 on a PS3 pad or LT and RT on a X360 controller. LB and RB are digital but...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Thanks, Newsdee! The physical location diagram will be a good reference when it's complete with other system's controllers mappings (NES, SMS, etc...). Sorg, I think he means what's described in the diagram on how SNES buttons map to other joysticks, without any kind of detection (aside of the initi...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

I really LOVE the idea of a Virtual Gamepad for MiSTer! My two cents is that the Virtual Gamepad be something based on XInput than SNES pad, so this gets more future-proof. Aside of additinal buttons being available for current and future cores, we get a home button too! 8) typedef struct { uint8_t ...

Re: LLOAD - Open source joysticks adapter for MiSTer

I've got a notification from the creator of the BlisSTer/BlissBox:

LLOAD is gone. I didn't know LLAPI protocol was copyrighted stuff.

Re: LLOAD - Open source joysticks adapter for MiSTer

Just pushed a commit with auto-detection of input cable adapters and several classic controllers drivers. Schematics for the cables are also provided. Still waiting for the PCBs to arrive from China for the tests. Will keep you guys posted!

Re: LLOAD - Open source joysticks adapter for MiSTer

I'm using USER I/O port as below:

D0/D1 and P2_D0/P2_D1 are connected to I2C lines in the uC (although those lines are currently being used as GPIO for LLAPI bitbanging).

Board also features 10K pull-ups on those lines.

LLOAD - Open source joysticks adapter for MiSTer

Hi there! I've come up with an open source / open hardware solution for connecting joysticks to MiSTer: https://github.com/bootsector/LLOAD It supports the "Low Latency" protocol. Those LL lines are connected to hardware I2C on the uC so if things changes in the future, the adapter can sti...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Hi, With the neogeo core, it's time to think about an adapter to play with neogeo original pad on mister :) Someone knows about an DB15 to USB adapter for this purpose? Even a DIY concept will be interesting  There's the USB Retropad Adapter, which is open hardware: https://github.com/bootsec...

Re: SNES core

In my case screen goes black after core loading without giving me the chance to open OSD in order to load a game. TV shows something about "incompatible signal"...
