Re: Minimig RTG possible?

Any volunteers to play with FPGAArcade provided RTG parts?

I've opened an issue tracker for it:

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

sonycman wrote:What would be the best choice for the Video option: Video area by: Blank or Blank+?

I like the look of Blank+ on 4:3, but it is mighty annoying when watching some demos, when the tiny logo suddenly jumps left or right some pixels because the display mode was changed.

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Budbrain megademo still crashes on the TG68K.C (as reported in mist-devel github) , though it runs fine on fx68k. I guess that some timings might be still too tight as Jim Power - Mutant Planet gets in-game background corruption on both TG68K.C and m68k cores(previously m68k was fine, but something ...

It's good that TG68K now is in active development stage!

Pretty much, since Tobilex is working on it, and Mist, and FPGArcade folks seem to have agreed to follow that path.

Correct, the green means passing, the red indicates failed tests. In some cases the failures are due to wrong exceptions. I've attached the failed tests to the previous post.

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Just a quick compare of the results from cputester (ignoring the Flag errors) for the cores
From the left: tg68k from MiSTer, m68k (with addx.b/subx.b fix), TG68K.C (from https://github.com/TobiFlex/TG68K.C)

Re: Work on the Minimig core?

I have implement my first try of the CHK2 and CMP2 Instructions here: https://github.com/TobiFlex/TG68K.C But I need help here. Do these instructions do what they should? Who can write examples or test code? cputester stop with false N- or V- Flag. But this is undefined behavior. @tobiflex, you can...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

But I confirmed that the FX68K UNLK A7 behavior is correct. Might be a cputest bug, or might be the data file is corrupt (or a bug on the data test generator)? Toni Wilen (cputest author) confirmed that he has seen the error himself sometimes, and that UNLK might issue a false error report. Accordi...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Any possibility updates to MiSTer comes back to MiST ? What updates do you think about? Fast RAM in DDR3, or what? No I guess thats not possible, more like compatibility fixes like Diggers AGA crashes with a white screen etc, plus the new 68K CPU core. This one is using the M68K core. I've tried Di...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Diggers AGA seems to crash on the unimplemented CMP2.W instruction in the Introduction part. you can play with M68K implementation in Minimig. it has cmp2 implemented but also has other bugs you can try to fix. Do I just need to uncomment the define in cpu_wrapper to build with M68K for the 68020 m...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I ran cputester against fx68k core, got 3 hits. 2 were from div, which might be still fine since it's only CCR flags, but UNLK instruction looks like it has a real problem.

Re: Work on the Minimig core?

This fix destory the pack and unpack opcodes. This one also enough for pinball: ELSIF setstate = "10" AND write_back = '1' AND (opcode(15 downto 12)/="0100" or next_micro_state = idle) THEN Will do some more test later to find out the exact instruction, at least we know it's fro...

Yeah, it looks like the fix is not in, as Pinball Illusions crashes when you load the table with the latest TG68K.C from git (tested on MiSTer) OK, i put it in. Can you test then Pinball again, please? This fix destory the pack and unpack opcodes. I has inserted the TRAPcc opcode in the Core. Now w...

Re: Work on the Minimig core?

i also think that for 020 people will want speed over accuracy. I talk for me now, but i prefer a perfect FPGA version of a normal car like Mazda2 rather than a FPGA not accurate version of a Porsche i mean i would prefer a 100% accurate 68020 14 mhz cpu (same ad real A1200) respect to a 100 mhz vi...

Re: Work on the Minimig core?

@tobiflex, thank you for creating the tg68k core, and making it available for everyone to play with!

The latest version of WinUAE cputester still has some issues with the flags on DIVU and DIVS, please see Toni's post:

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I've tried a few ADFs with demos to do some more testing. RSI Megademo gets an amazing speedup with the CHIP RAM caching enabled. Also, the part with heads only plays 2 channels with CHIP RAM caching enabled. I've noticed that couple of demos just freeze at the end (RSI Megademo, Sanity Roots v2.0) ...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Since 68030 is not that much different from 68020, maybe we can try to add 68030 support to the core, or at least expand the cpu flags to allow for the 68030 specific parts to be added. What it will give? Even not all 68020 instructions are supported yet. The funny thing is that 68030 is not implem...

Re: Work on the Minimig core?

Would it be better to mask out the SR in a spot where it gets written after modification? Just below: "if exec(to_SR) = '1' then". That would also take care of move instruction. The unused SR bits, at least on the 68000, simply don't exist at the hardware. Then, IMHO, the correct way is a...
