Re: SDRAM board

If you are worried unevenly trimmed header pins or too much solder will affect the max frequency a SDRAM module will test at, take a look at the this experiment. Apparently PCBWay botched one of the inner layer header vias on this batch, causing no-connections between the header pins and IC pads. D...

There is a region-free BIOS set available as well, these will play all games with a single BIOS.

Excellent advice! =)

Re: Arcade cores

What makes you think that he just walked away from it ? That report was from just a few months ago. You're right, I don't know. I should've been more thoughtful in my response but knowing it never got ported to MiSTer and he documented there are still sound issues made me think he gave up hope....I...

It's a shame that he put so much work into it, got so close, and just walked away from it.

Re: Arcade cores

If someone could hammer out a CAVE 68000 core, that would be great, mmkay? :) Never heard of it so looked it up. Which games are you most interested in on that system? I did find this about a FPGA project for it: https://gitlab.com/rwk-source/cave_1st_gen/raw/edf3f620b718d10279065c4ae5bb9000c719a00...

Re: Genesis Core

Is a Sega Saturn core ever going to happen? Given the Sega Saturn is a complex multi-core system that would require a tone of work unless people work on it or people fund development I don't foresee it happening. I know there is some PlayStation work and a Jaguar core that is around the corner so t...

Re: SDRAM board

The silkscreen on the jlcpcb boards is poor quality.. I think this is correct and supports my own findings. Ive found that on jlpcb boards if you solder at 310 and don't drag solder you will get 100% success rate and even the 7ctn chips will test at 150mhz ( which they shouldn't i know). However, i...

Re: SDRAM board

Does the voltage matter on the 1uF caps? eg. 10v, 16v, 50v? I don't see it in the schematic, sorry. Generally as long as the voltage is above double the maximum that can ever be supplied for the circuit, you are in good shape (or so I have been told, If I am mistaken, please correct me!). Meaning t...

Re: SDRAM board

Do you have a link to the 2.5 order on pcbway? The 2.4 boards are $50. PCBWay has no special cost for smaller board. So both 2.4 and 2.5 cost the same. That's why there is no v2.5 on PCBWay. Hi Sorgelig, thank you for this information, think I found it from the github: https://jlcpcb.com/quote#/?or...

Re: SDRAM board

Yes it is, the v2.5 version of XS-D is just a size revision to fall within 50mm width requirement for some PCB manufacturers to get lower prices. Alliance Memory Part Numbers: AS4C32M16SB-6TIN AS4C32M16SB-7TIN Both these version work well. Thanks! :) Do you have a link to the 2.5 order on pcbway? T...

Re: Screen Flip? Rotate Screen?

How to 180 flip vertical arcade cores on vga output? If you can set to vertical, why not also rotate? I got pacman plus core to work but screen is upside down, in an arcade cabinet that's a problem. Using J-PAC & IO Board. Thanks.
