Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Sounds good! I was inspired by you to get GODLIB all setup on my Falcon last night. Takes a long time to compile the samples... Will you be publishing your code? Have always thought about doing a shooter but never really looked in detail at how the engines work for waves etc. I wrote a basic demo o...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Tested on real STe (4mb, TOS1.62Fr, Satandisk); some waves are very cool :) Well done Madaxe :cheers: We want destroy them now :D Tried this one out on the Falcon too, and ran fine again :) Slight difference this time though, the faster waves only slow down when 6+ enemies are on screen now! Very n...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Hi fellows; Thanks again for your help and feedback :) And here it is: the new version of Enemy Wave Attack that now runs on all TOS and the masks are set properly. I tested on Steem and Hatari and it runs smoothly with no flickering but if someone wants to test on a real Atari would be nice :) Chee...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

I've had a look at GODLIB source code and at your compiled program. The bug that causes the crash is not present in the GODLIB version available on Github: https://github.com/ReservoirGods/GODLIB Ah yes, i also think that i had already been provided a newer version than the one from the website, ba...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Oupsy, i forgot the attachment indeed. :mrgreen: Here it is. No problem :) Thanks for the .CFGs files but unfortunately still doesn't run under TOS 2.06 :shrug: So, i found this: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6098&p=53775&hilit=godlib#p53775 It seems there is (or there...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Strange indeed, i attached the two .cfg files from my PUREC directory to this message, if it could help. I couldn't find the attachments, sorry. My game is "Manical Drop", clone of an arcade action-puzzle game every proper gamer should know. :P You can find more about it here: https://www...

Re: Need help to test on a Real Atari

Why do you think it would only run on TOS 2.06? I did a game with GodLib and it runs on earlier TOS versions as well. Mmmmmmm, very interesting! Well, maybe I am doing something wrong but after compiling my code the program only runs on TOS 2.06. In fact, there is a funny thing: the examples provid...

Hi christos;

It's not a silly question, in fact is a very relevant question, but yes: I'm using double buffering :)

Need help to test on a Real Atari

Hi friends; As some of you know I'm converting to Atari a little game that I made for Amiga, PC and Speccy. As I don't own an Atari I'm using the Steem Emulator. I made a little program to test some enemy attack waves and it seems to run very smoothly on Steem, but when I run it on Steem SSE or Hata...

Re: STE - mouse pointer

Hi @jury;

Code: Select all

section data

pic1   incbin   virtual.pi1

screen_buf
   dcb.w   3*32000,0

How do you display your pic on the screen? Do you use a trap to invoque vro_cpyfm or do you write directly to the screen?

Re: Support for AHCC

You can enable ST-LOW or ST-MEDIUM on ST,STE,TT and Falcon with this new library for AHCC. It can clear the screen and load basic picture formats such as .PI1 .PC1 and .NEO into memory and display them. Hi simonsunnyboy; Sorry to bother you but I'm having some difficulty with ST-LOW Lib. Can you pr...

Re: Porting SOTB to the Falcon

If you are interested, I can dig out the library...Ive actually forgotten the name of it now! lol most likely "Graphics Library for 'C' Beginners" or just GLCB.ZIP as found in most FTP sites. Hi fellows; I am doing some experiences with GODLib and GLCB and I would like to know if the size...

Hi guys; Thanks again for your great informations and nice tips. It'll take some time but I'll do my best to make a simple but enjoyable game... Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

There are a few builds of GCC (v.7.xx and 8.xx) available if you want C++, otherwise Pure C or perhaps VBCC is a C compiler which compiles for ST, Amiga and even Atari Jaguar. Hi @mrbombermillzy; Thank you for your great suggestion. I downloaded Pure C and GodLib, installed them, made some tests an...

Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

@Madaxe: I use the PC version of BlitzBasic. Is the Amiga BB2 similar to that? If so, you may find something like Pure C more suitable, as C isnt a great jump from BlitzBasic (at least on the PC version it isnt) and there are some great libraries (e.g. GodLib) too. Hi @mrbombermillzy; I only used B...

Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

The OP indicated existing knowledge in BASIC dialects so larning a new dialect shouldn't b out of th question. Pure m68k would give best results but is also has a hardcore learning curve. Regardless of the language used, I'm curious for any new release on the ST so good luck :) Thank you, I'll need...

Re: GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

Hi guys; Thank you very much for your great help and nice informations :) My aim is to make a game compatible with normal Atari ST. Sorry my ignorance but what is a stock Atari? Is it a kind of tunned Atari? I know a little 68K Asm but I dont't know very much of Atari's hardware so I'll start making...

GFA Basic, STOS or Asm?

Hi, greetings to everyone. I have made a little and simple shoot'm'up for PC Windows, Speccy and Amiga and now I would like to convert it to Atari :) I would like to know if there is something like Blitz Basic 2 to Atari. I heard about GFA Basic and STOS and are these powerfull enought to code a sim...
