Re: GBA Core porting to Mister

Follow up from my previous post: Using the latest VGA-enabled release, still getting a black screen (with sound) from this core through a U-Green HDMI to VGA adapter to a PC CRT, using vsync_adjust 0, 1 and 2. Direct Video does work (using the 'sync core to video' option), but means that filters can...

There is a region-free BIOS set available as well, these will play all games with a single BIOS.

Re: Bluetooth pairing of Dual Shock 4 (PS4) controller

Trying to pair Dual Shock 4 (PS4) controller (CUH-ZCT1U) to MISTer. It seems to pair but it doesn't stick. The controller came with my PS4 which was purchased new several years ago. I'm using a new CSR 4.0 dongle. I updated MISTer and tried various methods of pairing. The attached picture is the re...

Re: Filters for Scaler

That is strange. I use integer scaling together with a vertical border for the game boy core in order to scale the picture with a lesser factor. So this feature normally adds a border then? I misunderstood it to remove pixels at the top and bottom (i.e. replicating traditional overscan). I suppose ...

Re: Filters for Scaler

Ah, that should do it ! Thanks a lot ! Edit : hmm, vscale_border doesn't seem to be applied (neither globally nor locally). It does not increase the margins around the picture. Maybe I overlooked something ! I'm guessing that to add pixels (rather than removing them) you would need to supply a nega...

Re: GBA Core porting to Mister

I get a black screen (with sound) from this core through a U-Green HDMI to VGA adapter to a PC CRT. I understand VGA is not working currently, but I assumed this was only via the I/O board. As the output from the MiSTer is HDMI in this case, should it not be working? Tried vsync_adjust at 0, 1 and 2...

Re: NeoGeo topic

I recently decided to redo my SD card to do a major cleanup and also to make good use of the /media/fat/games subdirectories. With my old setup I had a NEOGEO directory in /media/fat where I put the bios files, the xml file and all game subdirectories. This time I put everything in /media/fat/games...

I'm using HDMI and have no issues with the Tiger Road core. I even tried the unofficial RetroDriven Tiger Road core and it also doesn't have the enemies sprites. Just the shadow on the ground of where they are.... My jttora.rom has crc32 of 16DD8565. Source was the standard US tigeroad.zip ...

Same here and my ROMs do have a matching CRC.
I use the HDMI output so maybe it displays ok using VGA since I have seen the video of it running....

Not sure if it has been confirmed, but don't forget his first cores (1942, 1943, GnG) have already been added to the main MiSTer repository.

Are there arcade cores that do not get added by the updater script? I've seen people playing Commando but I don't seem to have it after running the script. Jotego's cores are here: https://github.com/jotego/jtbin/tree/master/mister You can find an unofficial script to download these cores in the up...

Brook Ultimate Fighting Board works with MiSTer, best to use Xbox 360 or PS3 modes because some of the buttons on default mode don't get recognized Thanks for the info, I'm much more interested in the Brook Retro Board though, as I'd like to use with PS1, Dreamcast, Gamecube as well. Does anybody see anything missing from the currently available filters that should be implemented? Feel free to post it here! Re: FPGA Utilization Chart

Yeah, I want to know how it works. That's why I asked. Does it load all the mappers when you load the core, or does it load just the mapper used for the ROM that is loaded? Once a core is booted, the FPGA is static (until another core is selected). Therefore, all hardware that might possibly need t...

Re: NeoGeo topic

From what I can tell, any game that shows up as a folder in the Neo-Geo core’s browser (rather than as a selectable ROM) is not being recognized properly. Since it is romsets.xml that determines what ROMs are recognized, the only thing I can think of is that perhaps the file was downloaded incorrect...

Thanks, these kinds of changes aren’t as glamorous as a new core, but they are nonetheless appreciated :)
