Re: NeoGeo topic

From what I can tell, any game that shows up as a folder in the Neo-Geo core’s browser (rather than as a selectable ROM) is not being recognized properly. Since it is romsets.xml that determines what ROMs are recognized, the only thing I can think of is that perhaps the file was downloaded incorrect...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Sorry my english is not very good. I'm very happy as a that the core was released. The Neo Geo is favorite console so I'm happy that I been patronizing Jotego, Furtek and Sorgelig. I hope the x68000 will get a new more compatible core. I have a problem with this core. I have all the files required ...

GunSmoke Wow! I recently posted GunSmoke as one of my 3 wishes in the Arcade Core thread! I will be happy to support you for that game :) P.S. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, my opinion is that the way you are going about releasing cores via Patreon is perfectly reasonable. Your Patrons get ...

Re: Arcade cores

I put the osd dip support in most of the cores. Let me know if it is broken. Unfortunately we haven’t built new versions yet. I left out the coins and some other things that didn’t seem important. Sometimes the dips don’t work if you load a different rom. OK, thanks. And where can I find these soft...

Thanks, these kinds of changes aren’t as glamorous as a new core, but they are nonetheless appreciated :)

Re: Arcade cores

Thanks Lightwave, good point. Obviously game roms are what they are and it is up to platform to rotate or flip the image. I wonder if supporting cores include gpio to connect dip switches as they used to be present in original cabinets on the original platforms. Ideally those gpio's should be carri...

Re: Arcade cores - Vertical mode

I believe they did that originally. Look online and see if there are any “dips” or settings called “flip”. If so I will try to hook them up. Nope, there is no "flip" nor similar setting for it, at least in the MISTer load menu.: He means check if the option exists via a dip switch or serv...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

The AG620x doesn't process 0-255 properly, that's why i think it's a bug in the hardware. It doesn't respect the Quantization Range flag. I received the Ugreen adapter. It doesn't process either Limited or Full range properly. It appears that it just always darkens the darkest shades and doesn't ch...

I’m just an enthusiast the same as yourself, and have no relation to this project otherwise, so whatever I say is just my personal opinion :) From what I have seen anyone is welcome to discuss features, but there is a strong, let’s say, “open source” attitude here, meaning “you are welcome to do it ...

Re: Atari 800 Core - keyboard free operation - Start, Select, Option on Joystick

Atari 800 is computer, not Console. It expects the keyboard. Even games may need keyboard interaction. It's not about love or not. It's nature of this core. That's kind of a bit harsh response. If I've said anything offensive then please take my apologies. Maybe this was about my "bold" t...

Yes, but mine came with the newer AG6200.
I think they all come with the AG6200 now.

Ok, just ordered one for testing, hope you are right :)

I recommend this one; * with audio & power supply port. https://www.ebay.com/itm/UGREEN-HDMI-to-VGA-Converter-Adapter-With-Audio-Output-For-Xbox-PS4-PC-Laptop/152628627850 The HDMI port on the DE10-Nano provides enough power so no need to externally power these adapters. If you scroll down on t...

Re: HDMI audio stutter

As a solution, I got an IO board. It enables me to transmit analog audio from MiSTer to the TV (via a 3.5 mm to phono cable) while keeping digital video (by setting HDMI in DVI mode). It makes a world of difference. There is now actual sound when playing ColecoVision or Vectrex! The analog sound so...

Tested using this popular Tendak dongle adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Tendak-Converter-Adapter-Portable-Connector/dp/B01B7CEOVK/ Direct video does NOT work when connected to a Diamondtron VGA monitor (with forced scandoubler). Get no video signal at all. Adapter works fine via regular HDMI @ 640x4...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

I'm already using an HDMI to VGA adapter to connect MiSTer to a VGA CRT monitor.

Is there any benefit to using direct HDMI (with scan doubler) vs the regular HDMI (with scaler set to vsync_adjust=2) ?

Re: SNES core

What’s the best settings in mister.ini to reduce lag from HDMI? I’m using vsync_adjust 2, can I do something more? The other related setting would be setting the video mode to the native resolution of your HDMI display, removing the need for any additional scaling (possibly improving display latency)

Wait, does that mean that vertical monitor orientation is actually the preferred case for these particular arcade ...
