Re: PicoPSU ct60e

Hello, after receving my ct60e, i decided to run it with and ATX psu. Now, i have fine system, everything installed on an SD card. It's time to move forward. I bought a picoPSU-160-XT and the power supply that goes with it. working fine. But when i tried to close the original falcon case, it looks ...

Re: Ataribox

That's exactly why i got one. I have no interest for modern gaming stuff at all. Just want to have an Atari branded hardware and use it as my emulated Atari environment. Just give me my overpriced Windows-clone in December, that's all i ask :P Well, not sure if it's overpriced for what it offers ha...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

My personal experience with PMMU enabled on TT and ct60 is, that with that enabled, more software to crash than without. So PMMU support sounds a nice freature, but I idiot think, that many people will be unhappy enabling that memory protection feature in MiNT, when their favourite legacy GEM appli...

Re: Keyboard and monitor recomendations

The mega st keyboard has ways to repair bad keys. It fortunatley has a solid pcb instead of a mylar. You can spray a little contact spray(not wd40) in the switches to clean the >30yo contacts on the inside. Or Desolder and remove all the switches and solder in new cherry black/red/brown/blue switch...

I use my STFM keyboard with my TT.

Ah, ok... I guess I need to open keyboard and check it out. Some keys are unresponsive, but usually they work when you hit them with excessive force.

Re: Keyboard and monitor recomendations

A common problem with the MegaSTE/TT keyboards is damaged tracks of the mylar which results in some keys stop working, but that's easy to fix. Out of curiosity, how would you fix it? :-) Dexterslab done it before on his TT. http://www.mr2.net/marknias/atari_tt030.html#Keyboard I have Mega ST keyboa...

Re: New Joystick Introduction!

I will give my opinion: I would like two new joysticks, one that corresponds to the retro aesthetic (Atari in this case) and another that is truly ergonomic (PlayStation type) and that includes an auto-fire button; I would buy both if its price is reasonable, for other prices there are already alte...

Re: CT63/CTPCI black screen at boot

This is scary. I have a CT63/CTPCI with one slot, that have a Radeon card. I am considering adding EtherNat. Is it risky? Can just adding it cause the CT63 to go bad? I can only speak from my experience, but somehow it was CT63+EtherNat combo that broke up both boards. Rodolphe suspected thermal is...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

Does somebody have recommendation for cooler with fan for 68060? btw is it possible to have 68060 without fan inside Falcon? (without overclocking of course...) Chipset coolers (45mmx45mm) are perfect. 060 is designed to work without active cooling, so you should be able to use it without fan. This...

I'm not anymore conviced to ColdFire, when we have alternatives like 68080. Would be cool to get rid CF and have integrated 68080 wit FB Well... we have alternatives for emulation like PC running Aranym. 68080 is hardware emulation and I really don't see reason to buy 499,- euros emulation board wh...

Best (safe) way to pull out ct60e

Hi, compared to ct60, ct60e seems to sit quite tightly on falcon mobo because it snaps to falcon PSU connector. I'm afraid to use excessive force to pull it out and there's no really room to try loosen plastic PSU connector lip on falcon mobo underneath ct60e before pulling board off. I'm asking bec...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

VAMPIRE V4 standalone price was anounced: https://www.vesalia.de/e_vampirev4sa.htm 499.90 € ugh... That's quite much for emulation board. You can just buy Raspberry pi 4 for about 40,- euros and I bet it's faster for 68k emulation than Vampire v4. I don't know enough about hardware vs software emul...

Re: CT63/CTPCI black screen at boot

I had similar issues with CT63/EtherNat combo ten years ago... Rodolphe fixed CT63 by replacing one Xilinx chip on it (if I recall correctly). I think there was some problem with CT63/EtherNAT/expansion card combination, because both CT63 and EtherNat went bad, when this happened. How do you contac...

Re: CT60e is coming :)

Just out of curiosity, are there any reliable sources for 68060 CPU's? According to lore almost every 68060 from China is fake, especially if advertised as genuine Rev. 6 CPU. There's couple of sellers at ebay who list their products as real Rev. 6 version, but I don't know if chinese CPU market is...

Re: Moving my BBS from Mega 4 to Raspberry Pi/Hatari

That's nice :) Are you aware if there's decent list of telnet based BBS systems somewhere (Atari, Amiga etc) ? Go to AtariAge and under the 8bit section look for the permanent message base, "Atari 8bit BBS's". Doctor Clu there maintains a list that is updated periodically although you may...

Re: https for atari-forum.com

Except NetSurf, no Atari browser was updated for the last 15 years or so. No CSS*, no JavaScript* and unless you go for a real bare bone website design, the classic Atari browser running on Atari hardware simply won't handle a website. I certainly won't go back to a time of table-based layouts with...

now CT60e comes without a CPU, so... where are people supposed to get one? Chinese ebay sellers are full of fakes. You need full CPU with MMU and FPU. There are different revisions of 060's (I'm aware of Rev.1, Rev.5 and Rev.6) and they're manufactured with different die sizes and later revisions a...

I've discovered that if I slightly twist the 12V power cable (coming from the AC/DC-adapte...

Re: Atari Falcon keyboard not responding

That can't be related. What is possible though is that you made a short circuit somewhere. I once "burned" a trace on PCB between the keyboard and the ACIA so I had to make a custom wire between them. Anyway, you need at least a multimeter device to find out what's going on there. Problem...
