Tried super rtype, turbo removes all lag from the game. It's beautiful. However, it fails to load sounds on occasion. Music will be missing sounds, sound effects will be wrong. Gonna need some fixes.

Just tried your build of Genesis with turbo, same issue as I had with Sonic 2, music is wrong at 3x and plays at an uneven pace. Road rash at 3x sees an improvement in your build thanks to the vdp fifo changes. Now it needs a software patch, it's input handling seems to have been hardcoded for the l...

Turbo mode on snes, beat me to it. Just tested it, works great, Gradius III plays just like the sa1 build up to the bubbles on stage 2. They cause some minor lag, perhaps two turbo modes is in order. You don't hear it missing it's timing on the song? It's playing it but it keeps missing the beat. This is on the version I made, I'll test your changes later tonight.

You need both turbo options 1.5 and 3, spinball is ok at both but other games like Sonic aren't happy with 3x.

Added in 3x and 0.5x clock speed options and sent the pull request. Ok, figured out the issue finally. Jesus, if you can't find a var Quartus throw a error not a warning...

Btw did you try the build I posted on any of the games that have slowdown?

And out of curiosity, why would you need to disable the vdp fifo?

I would have sent a pull request by now Sorgelig, however I did some minor refactoring and now Quartus won't produce a usable binary. More testing, now that I can control turbo from the osd I can see the psg is actually working correctly. Only FM sounds are a problem. Interestingly, sonic spinball only uses the FM chip and it sounds fine besides being higher pitched. And apparently road rash is similiar, fm only, audio plays back ...

Added an osd option for turbo, turning off turbo after loading a game does fix the audio issues. Sorgelig, does the 68k access the FM chip directly as well as the PSG?

Well, after testing it's both the FM and PSG having issues, hmmmm

In both cases some sounds are fine and others are messed up, Sonic 2 the jump sound is fine, other psg music sounds are wrong.

Wrong pitch/garbled sounds, sonic 1 2 and 3, splatterhouse 2, gunstar heroes, most games are having issues.

I guess it would be prudent at this point to add an osd overclock option so I can see if audio problems clear up when disabled.

Thank you for testing slingshot, how recent is your build of Genesis for mist? From the look of your code quite a bit is different.
